Waldorf DPole is a nice one. Sounds better to ne than contemporary Models.

Huh, thanks for reminding on some plugs I usually overlook, AbsynthFX, Zebrify, Metafilter and Decimort (never used it as a filter before)

Gonna put some of these in my next track to see how I like them and also take a good look at everything else I have before I give in to further GAS

I purchased The Drop for the quality of the filters and range of tones possible without regard for the modulation options. The modulation options are equally excellent though. Offline and online oversampling options also make working with the plugin hassle free.

UAD Moog Filter (best sounding IMO), Toneboosters Dual-VCF (new), Arturia M12, ShaperBox are my go to filters ...

The drop is unsurpassed on any level , it stands head and shoulders above all the rest .
The attention to gain input scaling , filter drive , Khz rate lfo , transient and envelope followers , filter FM and the sheer quality of the filters itself .

This may sound pedantic , but those that dont hear the sheer quality/ emlation of cytomic the drop just don't have a clue how real (overdriven ) analog filters sound like ...and thus recommend far inferior plugins .
Talmod also has fantastic sounding filters , but none of these are available in a separate fx plugin ( TALfreeware filter plugin does not apply since this one is far inferior to talmod zdf filters )

I forgot , reaktor 6 zdf filter macros sound bloody amazing , but you will need to get your hands dirty

I believe the Cytomic guy was a part of making Ableton's Autofilter and also Serum's and LFOTool's filters. Does The Drop do more than these?

I'm familiar with Ableton filters...in comparison The Drop has a Wet/Dry control and is 2 filters that can be routed series/parallel - also much deeper modulation.

That said - while I love the Drop, I find myself using SoundToys FilterFreak 1/2 more often (especially on live guitar/bass) as it has the most "stompbox-like" envelope response out of anything I've found in the box.

Yes he ( andrew simper ) coded the filters for serum , but those filters are nearly 2 decades old .
In the about page of serum 1.0 , credit was given to cytomic ( andrew simper ) but he kindly asked Steve Duda to not use the cytomic name , but his then older company name instead : 'velocet '
AndreW Simper didn't want his old filters to be associated with his new company cytomic and it's high standards , and rightfully so
Ableton uses slightly less cpu intensive and less accurate versions of the drop's filters , but stilll great sounding

To be really honest, I still prefer analog filters.... Sold pretty much all my hardware synths now but I have filters in my eurorack.

Moog LP, Wasp BP and the HP from Korg MS20. The analog SEM-filter from Oberheim sounds wonderful and creamy as well, esp the BP-filter. Never ever heard a digital version that sounds the same. And the filter and wavefolder from Arturias Microbrute is incredibly good together.

The most amazing filter, creatively, I tried was the Boogie-filter, when combining different outputs to create unique filters. Just wow. Still have to mess with eurorack though - and having to have two filters to get stereo is quite nasty for the wallet.

I would love to have the filters from Diva as VST FX plugin....

My ears are really sensitive to filters and digital aliasing.

Cytomic has almost all of the above mentioned filters , except Oberheim sem
It does give you ms 20 + variations , oscar , sh 101 , jupiter , arp ,and some tailored made ones
