It's so easy to drag a clip from arrangement to vertical clip launcher, make couple of variations, pick the best and drop it back to arrangement view. And still have all your variations saved in the launcher. Yes you can do that in live too, but it requires tab hitting and the launcher is horizontal.
Well... ;)

Honestly the audio mangling isn't that much different in Live, Suite is a different story with all the granular M4L devices etc.

My suggestion since you already have FL Studio and Bitwig is to wait until someone is selling Suite for cheap either here or on the Ableton forums. It's what I did when I wanted Suite, even owning Live it was cheaper to get Suite for under $300 on the forums.

lots of "used" LIVE licences on their official board : https://forum.ableton.com/viewforum.php?f=43
the more I use v.10suite, the more amazing things I stumble upon re: instruments and MAX devices - Suite is worth every penny I paid for the upgrade

Ableton are running a 30% sale right now, I'm looking at upgrading my Standard to full Suite.

Testing some of the instruments and effects; I really like Operator and the AAS physical modelling things, Analog looks fine for poly analog duties, Waveform doesn't impress me yet much but the surprise star of today's demo show is Pedal! Stupidly amazing sounding distortion. Echo is sweet too, all in all I think I could replace many plugins with the included stuff and have some new options along with M4L.

I don't receive that question.. I just d n'drop
Drag & drop only works if you drag the sample from Project Browser or - probably - from Editor Panel when you select Event not the Clip. Otherwise it asks to Slice the sample.
The workaround is to insert a sampler, and drag and drop to the sampler, it bounces the clip with its fade applied and imports it. I would rather have the slice option activated when dropped the drumpad overview/scroller :)

Be aware that some AAS plugin comes with ableton is older version of their latest retail plugins.

Yep, Chromaphone 2 is more advanced than the version of same tech in Live, but that doesn't really make the Live instruments bad :)

How much cost Live 10 suite in US$ ? Regular and with the 30 %...?

The web site tells me 899$ can$ and 629 can$ but I'm curious to see the difference.

Thanx

Live 10 Suite is US$749 regularly, I think. Now on sale for US$524.
