Damn post GAS.

Post

I've just, in the last two days, ordered and then canceled a BOSS GT-100 from Thomann. Twice. They must love me. I just don't see the thing bringing me much happiness beyond the first couple of days.
I may get a real wah and big muff, and possibly better pups for my strat.

Love the EHX Russian Big Muff - bought one a few years ago, and it's got that really thick, full sound, especially on neck pickup humbuckers.

Thanks for the tip.

GAS can indeed be painful. Especially when it's for something essentially non-essential. I have a great amp, Amplitube and Scuffham sims, and a BOSS GT-8 that I bought cheap but never bothered to learn it. Too many menus, submenus, manual written by chimpanzees, and just too easy to plug into my other choices. So wtf do I want a gt-100? I have tones out the wazoo, the only things I'd really like is a real wah and the muff. I have a modulation/delay pedal somewhere. My goal is to give me easy tonal variations on the VOX, with an absolute minimum of fuss. The pups can come later, when I feel like installing them.
Being cooped up inside is making me loopy.

I've got my modular rack full, except for reserved space for a module I preordered. I'm not gonna get a bigger one or another case. I'm not planning to change anything out for a good while either, and if I do it won't be anything major. I don't have much room for other synths, pedals, other FX etc. -- and I'm really satisfied with the setup I have now. So I kind of think my GAS is almost cured.

On the other hand, I caught myself poking at Goodwill's website and eBay for music gear the other day out of habit and had to stop myself.

Also I'm probably going to pick up TAL-Sampler soon... there's always room for software! :D I just don't honestly need much in that area.
