Wavestation has a screen size option hidden under the menu Utility and the 'Extended' option means it nearly fills a 1080p screen so that's a hell of a lot better.

OK so the same applies to M1, MonoPoly and PolySix. The Utility menu is hard to track down on some though!
This has instantly made all these synths way more usable for me. The addition of the UI changes and hundreds of presets per synth and I suddenly feel like I have value from products I bought ages ago.

Keep finding new things - new built in effects they have added are decent too.

re korg, I've been using the old legacy bundle that came with taktile 49 midi controller that I bought years ago - I just went back to https://www.korg-license-center.com/index.php?hl=en and entered the original bundle code, that gave me a coupon code which discounted "KORG Collection 2 - Legacy Bundle" to $0.

I had to then install the korg software pass app and install each item individually from that - but now I can finally see the synths in that bundle without zooming in the screen - for free!

Thanks a lot, appreciate the help.

Nice indeed. Have a great time with revived synths. :tu:

Do you know if Korg allows license transfers? Or is account transfer an option? Just to make sure in case need arises in future.

8PM tonight everyone on their doorsteps banging pots and pans and cheering the good folk at Korg.

Edit: No, Korg doesn't allow license transfers

Maybe forget the pots and pans, just a little light applause then.

Awesome! Might sound lame, but would you mind if I can try the code your already tried? ;)

Post

sorry, has to be a "no" on that - hope you understand why.

Surely, no problem. My bad actually for asking. :)

LoveEnigma18 wrote: Tue Apr 14, 2020 5:48 pm Not the right place to ask I guess, but what's the closest alternative to KORG Collection - WAVESTATION?

Just need a quick suggestion.
It is regularly on sale though for 29$ or less!
Thanks, any idea when do such sales normally happen? :)
Hard to tell, they had one with Black Friday, then one with the release of the new Triton and since then I'm not sure. I expect one soon though as its been a while. If I recall correctly all the older ones get dropped to $25 (instead of 29 woops) so the Wavestation and the M1 are great synths at that price! The GUI is the main complaint for most but personally I can work with that. I have the M1Le and was waiting for the collection upgrade to drop to $99 as they often do but then they released the Triton and bumped the prices quite high :(
Damn this was scary accurate :o but what the hell. *Oh hey, we made the GUI resizeable, give us another $50 for a 15 year old plug-in" Was planning on getting it when it was $99 for the m1le upgrade again, but it looks like it won't be for another while. Can't get behind company policies like these, so no korg for me.

This is interesting. What's the general consensus. Good price for what you get?

It's a great price. I paid twice as much for it nearly 2 years ago before I understood how to wait for the best prices to buy at.

So how often do you use things like TRacks, Syntronik and Sampletank? How do they compare to the V-Collection and Komplete? I rarely see anyone using Syntronik or Sampletank

I use TRackS fairly often I really like the Stealth limiter and Tape Echo in particular and the standalone TRackS is useful for mastering stems as you can easily A/B complex chains without a massive CPU load.
I use Syntronik and Sampletank rarely now, more used when I first got the package as I had very few other plugins, but still use MODO Bass a lot and Miroslav has some very nice orchestral instruments with articulations.

V-collection is light years quality-wise ahead of anything in Sampletank or Syntronik IMO, but doesn't cover all bases due to its focus. I'm not a fan of Komplete any more, but it has ardent support. Maybe if I went the Maschine hardware route I'd like it more. What it does have is Kontakt which is essential IMO because of all the 3rd party libraries it opens up. So I'd say despite being a decent package Total Studio 2 Max is bottom of those three in terms of what I'd use on a daily basis.

Awesome, thanks for sharing. For $170 it's quite temping as Amplitude is on my wishlist anyway :phones: thanks for your insight, I'll think about it!
