I've decided to enter this month's RPM Challenge, not with any intention of actually completing it. 9 days to do one song, that's not going to happen. Not sure if I'll finish 3 songs or 2 songs or even just this one. Doesn't matter. My goal is to write and produce the best songs that I'm capable of producing, given my limited skills. I like the way track 1 turned out. Could it be better? Well, not by me alone. Maybe with some help. I've come to recognize my limitations and understand that my songs are only going to be so good.

Anyway, here is my first submission for the challenge.

Xenophobic Zeppelin

Long ago when I was young
I was my mom's innocent son
But then I heard those evil chords
And I felt like I'd never felt before

Now I'm a xenophobic zeppelin
Play those power chords again and again
Hear me as I scream
Join me in this dream
Now I'm a xenophobic zeppelin

Innocent that's what I was
My mama said just because
But then I heard those evil chords
And I felt like I'd never felt before

Repeat Chorus

Look into the future with you
There ain't a thing I would undo

Can't remember what it was like
Back in the day when I was just a tyke
Cause when I heard those evil chords
I felt just like I'd never felt before

Repeat Chorus

It's just a song. Nothing more than that should be read into it.

 i know, hence the alien reference.

maybe if youd mentioned in this thread about the randomiser, i wouldnt look so stupid :hihi:

Post

Don't even give it a second thought. I'm sure there will be quite a few strange titles in this CD.

Well, 16 days into this challenge and 2 tracks done. Not doing too well. LOL.

Randomly generated title again from the letters JLEMPR. Good thing I have a lot of practice doing this.

Attention to detail can't fix my wretched singing which is getting worse and worse the older I get. Not even pitch correction could save this one as bad as my allergies are right now. Might go back to Vocaloid soon.

Just Like Every Monday (Press Release)

It's the same old story
It's getting pretty old
It may be hot outside
But in here it's damn cold
You need to get a new line
To use on me each day
Cause I've run out of patience
To listen to you say

Just like every Monday
You're barking up that tree
Can't escape your nagging
The way you pester me
Why don't you take out a press release
A press release
A press release or three
Just like every Monday
For the whole damn world to read

It's been fourteen days now
Two weeks of your abuse
I try to make you stop
But girl it's just no use
You need to get a new line
To use on me each day
Cause I've run out of patience
To listen to you say

Repeat Chorus

The New York Times
The New York Post
The daily grind
Give up your ghost

Instrumental Break

Repeat Chorus

I've been down this road. Nobody wants to sing my songs. And the group I currently write for won't post in public. Long story. So singing my own songs is my only option, other than Vocaloid.

Really, your voice is not too bad, but I would recommend you should focus on breathing techniques. This is from the guy of the clock song, maybe something to sing along for you:

Well, I worked really hard on this one and am very happy with it, something I don't say often.

So 20 days into this month and only 3 songs finished. Of course I think it shows in the results.

Lessons

What have you got to say for yourself
You screwed up again
You walked out on what we had
You do this now and then
How many times do
You think I'll take you
Back into my arms girl

Have you learned your lessons
ABCD All the way home
Have you learned your lessons
It's not like this is so unknown
Can you get your degree
Masters or PhD
Have you learned your lessons
For loving me

Repeating mistakes is just your style
You're the head of the class
You turned it into an art
You're a pain in the ass
How many times do
You think I'll take you
Back into my arms girl

Repeat Chorus

This is your last chance
To do this last dance
No way can this go on

Instrumental Break

How many times do
You think I'll take you
Back into my arms girls

Repeat Chorus
