So are you seriously believing a known liar over a bunch of KVR regulars who's computers were infected by this guy, because he's now changed, and is trustworthy despite his lies and sock puppeting?scalawag wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 3:50 pmSo you had to submit the zip file to an online scanner to know the plugins were infected?Teksonik wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 2:39 pm This was a scan of just one of his plugins......
AO Malware.png
Again, how dou you know you wasn't already infected with other malware before downloading AO plugins?
Sorry but I can't believe a few plugins in a zip file will compromise your OS at a point you have to spend 24h cleaning it. The plugins have to be run to infect any OS. Just downloading and unzipping them will do nothing.
I don't want to excuse Tunca or anything like that!
Back then I was the one who found out and said here in KVR that the "new" company domain was registered by him, even if he denied. After that he admitted it was him, and a lot of things have changed since then.

The files were re-upped after the malware was reported. Tunca said his site had been hacked. The files you downloaded since are irrelevant.VariKusBrainZ wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 4:07 pmSo even though we're all downloading the same files theres a schrodinger cat element to this, which you have named Luckthecontrolcentre wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 4:02 pmLucky, not strange ...VariKusBrainZ wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 3:57 pm Strange that I never downloaded any of those infected files.

Cynical business model:
Offer something for free and make your money via installed malware...
Never thought about such thing.
Conclusion:
Use only plugins from a handful of trusted and relevant developers.
Don't use freeware, marketing ware and buzz ware.

Super weird that random people are vehemently defending this guy when the evidence is stacked against him and the witnesses/victims are long time, trusted kvr members.

No I didn't. I often use Virus Total as a backup or second opinion scanner. The proof is right in front of your eyes. For example Bitdefender is not prone to false positives yet it detected malware in the AO files.scalawag wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 3:50 pm So you had to submit the zip file to an online scanner to know the plugins were infected?
Because I do regular scans and I don;t normally download hinky files. Again the Virus Total screenshot shows you all you need to know if you know what you're looking for....notice Gen Variant Razyscalawag wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 3:50 pmAgain, how dou you know you wasn't already infected with other malware before downloading AO plugins?
It didn't take me 24 hours. You're confusing me with someone else. It did however take me a several hours to do another deep system scan just to be sure I got everything.scalawag wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 3:50 pmSorry but I can't believe a few plugins in a zip file will compromise your OS at a point you have to spend 24h cleaning it.
Here's some information on Gen Variant Razy:
"Typical behavior for Trojans like Gen:Variant.Razy is one or all of the following:
Download and install other malware.
Use your computer for click fraud.
Record your keystrokes and the sites you visit.
Send information about your PC, including usernames and browsing history, to a remote malicious hacker.
Give remote access to your PC.
Advertising banners are injected with the web pages that you are visiting.
Random web page text is turned into hyperlinks.
Browser popups appear which recommend fake updates or other software".
Anyway AO already acknowledged there was malware in his downloads. Why you're still trying to defend him is beyond reason........

It depended on when you downloaded them. Before or after they were infected or after they were cleaned.VariKusBrainZ wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 3:57 pm Strange that I never downloaded any of those infected files.

You know Tunca, there is a company around here who specializes into plugins and crazy business. They also include fake profiles, pretending they're not the same person when some say they have proofs they are (and when something like this begins to spread, no matter if it's true or not, nobody believes you anymore). But this company includes a few superbonuses, such as : pre-paid products that never get released, making people pay to betatest products, randomly going ape$hit against forum members, and promotion through supermassive spamming. I personnaly avoid them like the Plague. But it doesn't matter who I'm talking about, you don't know this company anyway.
My point is : you've done nothing bad Tunca (who would think you -wanted- to add malwares to plugins ???). You've made mistakes. But you're lying to cover those mistakes. Why don't you simply tell what you have to say and put an end to this ?
I think everybody would perfectly understand if your rant was about the title of this topic as you're looking for a fresh start. But using fake profiles or shills to tell your message is making your company look shady. I'm not buying you're not behind this, sorry.
