I see, so that's the reason I (as a owner of the 1rst edition/"true"thecontrolcentre wrote: Sat Apr 18, 2020 1:20 pmThere is no Legacy collection anymore. Its now Korg Collection 2chk071 wrote: Sat Apr 18, 2020 1:13 pm It ain't vintage enough to be added to the Korg Legacy Collection.![]()

All I can figure out is that it will cost me way more to buy what I am missing than just by the whole collection as new customer, even when everything is discounted. Korg have been on my developers to ignore list for quite a while since this lack of upgrade paths is not a new issue.

I'm in the same boat exactly I was never able to create Korg account with the boxed software that I had that came with the hardware controller. Boxed was sealed when purchased and I still have the manual and codes. I have been using the 32bit versions wrapped in jbridge for years. The only plugin I really want enough to upgrade though is the new MS-20 so I'll just buy that outright while it is on sale.Kr3eM wrote: Sat Apr 18, 2020 2:10 pmI see, so that's the reason I (as a owner of the 1rst edition/"true"thecontrolcentre wrote: Sat Apr 18, 2020 1:20 pmThere is no Legacy collection anymore. Legacy Collection with MS-20i Controller) have no upgrade paths what so ever.

No, only if I had purshased the additional M1 and Mono/Poly, which I never did, since it either was way overpriced back in the day or if it wasn't then I missed it for some reason.thecontrolcentre wrote: Sat Apr 18, 2020 2:21 pm I got the original Legacy Collection as an upgrade from M1 LE, then upgraded to the Korg Collection to add the ARP Odyssey for £45 (iirc). I just upgraded to Collection 2 for free.
Isn't the upgrade from the original Legacy Collection available anymore?
IIRC even as the time went by after the first upgrade mess, I never encountered a deal that I was eligible for...beside the migration thing 2 years ago to Korg ID, but that was done for each single product instead...and that was not really an upgrade per se.korguser.net/ wrote:Sorry, there is no upgrade coupon for you.
Users who have registered 6 KLC products (MS-20, Polysix, Mono/Poly, M1, WAVESTATION and MDE-X), or M1 Le are eligible for this upgrade offer.
Now, to be perfectly clear, I do have the v2 of my Legacy products (MS-20, Polysix, Wavestation, Legacy Cell + MFX) so it's not that upgrade path I'm refering to.

From my recollection: There were originally two Legacy collections: the Legacy Collection, with the MS-20i controller (Legacy Cell, MDE-X FX, MS-20, & Polysix), and then a boxed add-on called “Digital Edition” (M1 & Wavestation).
They merged the two plugin collections, and that was when they dropped the dongle and stopped selling the USB MIDI controller & boxed products.
They added the Mono/Poly around then (which I don’t have on desktop, but I do have their iPad version). In the last two years, Korg added the desktop version of ARP Odyssey (which I already had for iPad, so I didn’t buy that in the newish Korg Collection either).
Is it possible that owners of the very original package, who didn’t upgrade to Digital Edition, didn’t get eligibility for the switchover to the new collection?
When I did the migration, I wasn’t offered a $49 upgrade to the whole collection (with the newly added Odyssey) because I was missing Mono/Poly. All I got was a basic migration of what I already owned to their new online system. I would have had to buy Mono/Poly to get the coupon for the Odyssey-including full set, and I’m not even sure that was possible any more.
Shortly after that, Korg broke the individual plugins into separate products we could buy, but I decided I didn’t need to buy Mono/Poly and ARP Odyssey a second time just to have them as AudioUnits in Logic (since I had them on iPad).
Edit: I was eligible for this current v2 upgrade, but only for the products I already owned.

The original Legacy Collection with the MS-20i Controller had the Wavestation as well.Jace-BeOS wrote: Sat Apr 18, 2020 3:02 pm From my recollection: There were originally two Legacy collections: the Legacy Collection, with the MS-20i controller (Legacy Cell, MDE-X FX, MS-20, & Polysix), and then a boxed add-on called “Digital Edition” (M1 & Wavestation).
Edit: IIRC The M1 was released later and then they made the Digital Edition
A short search and it appears to be Legacy Collection 2004 / Digital Edition 2006

Wish they'd add the Prophecy, only with a decent GUI.

Any good tutorials anywhere on programming the Wavestation? Suppose I should finally learn how to get the most of that one. Groove3 has an M1 video, but no Wavestation video.

I have Demo'd the Triton I wasn't impressed to be fair it would have to be free in the upgrade, sounded dull looks dullSLiC wrote: Sat Apr 18, 2020 10:52 am When you have everything bundle adding the Triton seems expensive. Hopefully this will be reduced as time passes, it would be fun to have for 'nostalgia' as I used to owned a Triton in the day, but I don't need to add 1 instrument for 150 bucks...The price for all seven instruments including the ARP, M1, Wavestation etc for $299 for 'new users' seems fair however..
Now- lets seem if they do a software version of the Wavestate![]()

How the hell is korg's registration/upgrade system such an absolute shitshow..
I've the legacy collection with the m1..my registration code isn't working..
Even getting it working a couple of years ago was practically impossible..
In this day and age like..ffs..

“This day and age” is part of the problem. Legacy (no pun intended) data is often a problem because companies have since trashed old databases and moved on to newer ones, as well as new models for licensing DRM.cqd wrote: Sat Apr 18, 2020 5:00 pm How the hell is korg's registration/upgrade system such an absolute shitshow..

Also, it doesn’t matter how “modern” we get when the same mistakes keep being made...
