Teksonik wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2020 5:53 am Holy Moly !!! I had seen this thread going back to when it was refreshed and just thought it was discussions about the old plugins. I saw tonight there is a version 2 of all the plugins.

So now I have free upgrades to all my Korg plugins: M1, Wavestation, MS20, Polysix and MDE-X.

It's like having five new plugins as the new GUI's make them so much more pleasant to work with.

Now THAT'S the way to treat paying customers. Thank you Korg, well done ! :tu:

I now plan to purchase the Triton, global financial meltdown be damned....... :hyper:
I'll update the title! I forgot about it as well lol. Yeah it is nice for owners, but it would've been ridiculous to charge for a HD version of the plugins! It still sucks they increased the price for new buyers :?

Now it's much more fun to use, and program these Korg VST Synths. :)

Thanks to Korg and Roland, my hats off to you for bringing us these classic emulations, but Yamaha?? Yamaha team where are you guys at?? 😂 Yamaha could be making a killing off of their earlier boards.

Yamaha doesn't have any synths worth modelling anyway.

So it's not just me! I suspect most people associate the Wavestation with the cool, funky grooves and loops...but the reality is that the Wavestation is a seriously powerful synthesizer in its own right, and its best sounds are not Ski Jam or DebussyOnWheels, but some of its patches that emulated real instruments. You basically have 8 oscillators at your disposal, with some stunning samples. It can emulate LA synthesis, S&S, subtractive, and more with great authenticity.

I recall the launch of the Wavestation in 1990, and have to tell you that Korg had no idea how amazing this product was back then, even though they knew it was something powerful. A patch like King Sitar or Ethnic Drum Kit are still usable today, 30 years later, and they utilize no wave sequencing or vectoring. Glad to see the Wavestation getting some love here. It was an amazing machine, and the Korg Collection version does it justice.
Agree. First synth I bought, back in 1992, so will always be a fave for me. Check the Paul Osborn presets if you haven't already, he really shows off just what is possible combing WaveSequences with Vector Synthesis, and has the best 70's analogue style patches I have heard.

Eight multitimbral four oscillator patches in a Peformance, so way more than eight oscillators, you could have 32 totally different WaveSequences going with one key press in Performance mode, before you even thought about holding down an eight note chord (plugin has 256 note polyphony). :)

I'll check out the patches you mention too!

Just discovered that all presets goes back to default when opening a project in FL Studio. This happens for both PolySix and Mono/Poly. I didn't use the others in a project yet but I assume it's the same story.

I tried to tweak the sounds and save as user presets, save the project and then close it. When I open the project again all Korg instances are back to default presets and I have to manually go to each instance and change to my saved user preset.

Besides this I didn't see any major bugs while using FL Studio and the updated Korg plugs.

That's a pretty serious issue which should be reported to Korg, even though it seems to be DAW-specific. In Studio One, patches seem to get recalled correctly with the project.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Yeah - so Dreamwaves, Trancewaves and Chemistry right? Or did he make any others for Wavestation?

I only know Dream and Trance, not heard of Chemistry before, where did you find those?

[EDIT] OK Chemistry not for WaveStation...

This is a huge bug. 3 weeks ago I did a track with only Korg (14 instances). Opened up yesterday and monopoly ms-20 and polysix just play init sound. Wavestation seems ok.

Edit - Cubase Pro 10.5 Windows 10. Have sent report to Korg
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

Only thing I would care to see from Yamaha are the TX7 and TQ5 but only if they make the GUI look exactly as the original.
