Can you apply another voucher? Thought it was limited to the one voucher.

I might get it, if that's possible.

Edit: Nevermind, don't even have a voucher which would qualify.

Post

Yeah I used a voucher so after VAT was - £25 - less than many expansions/patches

Have to admit been some great deals from PA recently over last few months have bought (approx prices and include VAT)

Lion - £29
Shadow Hills Class A - £29
Thorn - £17
Oberhausen £25

Cracking prices IMO

During last sale it was costs 90+, but in cart automatically added code for decrease to 49, and then yes - you could add your loyalty monthly 25 vaucher.
Just i decided to grab it too, after Andi Vax review
Frankly before seemed to me like some another regular va, at least by screens, not tried demo though. But it seems all not so simple.

Tried it out , crazy high cpu here, one of the drum presets sat at 15% while the plugin was idle !!!

Cubase 15, Ableton Live 12

CPU usage is insane, that's true.

CPU Usage is fine here, depends on the patch. If you're using polyphonic pad sounds there is a bit of CPU usage for sure, but that's what freezing is for.

Is it worth it if you have the Arturia (which I love)?

Yes, if you can get it for $24.99 :D

I can potentially, but then I could spend that on something else

Sounds much better than the Arturia SEM to me. This is rather on level with the u-he emulations.

I know I get a smack now for saying that Arturia is not on level with the u-he emulations.

I agree on both counts: up there with U-He, worth having for $25 even if you have SEM-V. And, no, Arturia is not on the same level of quality as U-He's synths.

SEM-V is better for multiple voices (lower CPU), for percussive sounds (I like the noise source), for modulation (much more comprehensive mod matrix), but it is inferior for basses, lead sounds that are soloed, and for real-time tweaking.

Even U-He's "Uhbie" filter isn't quite as good as this one, IMO. It's good! ...but I prefer this one.

Arturia and Brainworx are close
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM

This is in another level than Arturia, as said before. Also the arp is great. Just read this thread.
Shortcomings are obviously the effects and limited modulation. But for what it is and the current price it's great. Got it for $50 on release and already made and got some tracks released with it. It's fat and the filter is imo on a level with dune3/repro, even better than diva.

I did a A/B between Oberhausen's and Diva's Uhbie filter, and, yeah, I prefer Oberhausen's as well. Has more of a creamy, pleasant character to it, while the Uhbie filter is harsher, almost a bit shrill.

Great review. Interesting what he prefers...
