Could you pls help with this basic question?
If I buy an audio interface, do I need to buy the speakers so that I can hear the sound? Or will the sound come from the audio interface as well?

Yep... Just headphones if you don't want to invest in Monitors (speakers).

Speaker's of course which give you stereo listening and headphones as well for micro listening and Binaural listening
