Bit early in the UK to be trolling the Korg thread again isn't it?

45 mins between your last 2 posts, that's plenty of time to make an init preset, but its clear you prefer to bitch about it and wait for someone else to do the simple job for you.

I'm not pining for it as much as my dream Waldorf Q and Novation Supernova vsts, but the Yamaha AN1x would absolutely be worth having as a plugin!robotmonkey wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2020 7:54 amYamaha doesn't have any synths worth modelling anyway.trusampler wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2020 7:07 am Thanks to Korg and Roland, my hats off to you for bringing us these classic emulations, but Yamaha?? Yamaha team where are you guys at??Yamaha could be making a killing off of their earlier boards.

The general expectation is that "init" preset should be available for any synth by default, and especially when all synths but one from the bundle have it, it's a bit annoying. But it could be argued what would an "init" preset be for an unconventional synth like Wavestation.
That aside, my main gripe is about Wavestation not having the drop down menu to select/browse presets as list. This feature is available in all other synths, so why not Wavestation? If there is someway to have that in Wavestation, please enlighten me.

Full empty RAM Bank for the Wavestation, will Init everything in that Bank (WaveSequences, Patches and Performances).

Not had a chance to delve into the synth beyond the presets so far, looking forward to having a look at the manual to clarify a couple of things that are not clear to me just from clicking around, and having a go at sound creation from scratch.

Aaah I remember way back when in the last millenium, sitting in front of my shiney new Wavestation, clearing a patch and starting from scratch to make my own 32 oscillator monster. I think I was still sat there at sundown scratching my head with the first wavesequence.
TBH you're almost always better off with the WS to use an old patch to make your own up. It's about 785 clicks just to make a parp sound, and that's only one oscillator. (Actually the WS doesn't do parps - more like zombie ant robot army on acid marching across ice crystals?).
Find a patch in the ball park of some kind of sound you want to make, then copy the oscillators and tweak them into what you want. It'll save you a big headache. You don't quite need a doctorate in astrophysics to programme a WS, but maybe a Masters?
I actually know how to make all my own patches in a WS nowadays from a blank patch, but I almost never do. Life is just too short and before you know it, it will be winter and you're still only up to step 78 in oscD for part 3.

Clicking around has revealed some of how to program the thing but it's not the most intuitive interface ever. Sounds gorgeous tho.
