Do you delete free sample libraries?

"Free" as in free, or even as in "comes with my DAW" free.
I have some Live packs and some Native Instruments things that are sitting on my HD, likely never to get used. They're not bad, mind you, just not likely to see any love.
Y'all delete that kinda stuff?

I save free stuff to dvd. I always think "this might be useful later on". I admit to being a hoarder. supposedly, hoarding is a bad sickness.

No need to use the sound content and packs that come with your DAW if you don´t want to. Everything can be downloaded separately and at any time nowadays.

Why should the free stuff be different from the non-free stuff?
Quality?

Hmmm, good question. I was thinking, I guess, that with the non-free stuff, there's a chance to sell that stuff. Maybe not with sample packs, but with libraries like NI stuff.dark_virus wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 3:27 am Why should the free stuff be different from the non-free stuff?

So, contextually, I see the free stuff that isn't likely to get used as just clutter. Which, in my physical world, I don't have much (any) of. But there's stuff on my drive that might be considered so.

I have deleted some paid sample libraries if I am not using them.
Sample libraries can be large and take up much space so, paid or free doesn't matter if its not useful.

Anything that I never will use will be deleted. Even some of the paid samples have been deleted simply becuase they're total useless. I don't mean the whole packs of paid but some of the samples. Like some presets on most vst-synths that are total useless.

Oh, that's interesting - when you delete the presets, do you mean you usually delete all of the presets that came with the VST, or do you go through and try each preset and delete all but the ones you think you might use?Daimonicon wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:46 pm Anything that I never will use will be deleted.
