No MX update is tied to the soundbanks.

as usual with NI previews, I was left quite underwhelmed by the demo tracks. Think I'm better off sticking with programming it myself. All three packs have this 'too modern' sound for my tastes.

I would be interested to see how the sound banks look in the browser, are they separated?
Hopefully someone will make a video and play the individual sounds.

I haven't seen them, but I'd bet a million bucks they will just show up alongside the 'update 1.x' banks in the browser. There hasn't been any updates recently, so it's not like there will be something new in the browser's functionality. Each update added a bank in the browser, so these expansions will probably just appear as new bank entries under the update banks (and yes, therefore separate from the standard factory content, just as the update banks are separate from it).SLiC wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 8:27 pm I would be interested to see how the sound banks look in the browser, are they separated?

Hmmm, seems strange to drop three new expansions before the browser is sorted.

What you mean to say is: Classic NI behavior, as per usualSLiC wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 8:35 pm Hmmm, seems strange to drop three new expansions before the browser is sorted.

Whilst I would be the first to acknowledge that NI brought out Massive X long before it was 'ready' and it is still a WIP that I know they are indeed progressing on.
What other NI product did this happen to to receive a "Classic NI Behaviour, as per usual".
I am curious.

Machine micro mk3 - it took a year from when I bought it for the transport controls on the hardware to work in a DAW....but they managed half a dozen Maschine packs in that time...

As an owner of several Maschines and Komplete Keyboards, their ability to control Cubendo for me as a nice added bonus but certainly nowhere near the top reasons why I got them.
Was that a key reason you got your MM Mk3?
But I would imagine it was fully functional as a standalone up to that point no?

I upgraded from a MK1 (which worked as a controller in my DAW) to a MK 3 (which didn't) which was unexpected and was the reason I stopped using the hardware controller (I don't use it stand alone) but I still use the software with hardware, but it was an unexpected 'downgrade' for me. There was a lot of noise on the forums about this, a lot of complaints (it seems a lot of people expected this to work as it had before) and it still took NI well over a year to fix it!zvenx wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 9:34 pmAhh.. NI still have to make a buck and I dont realy blame them for taking the low hanging fruit of presets and sample packs, but it just seems crazy to me that they dont fix the browser on machine X, it was universally derided and how hard can it be, its been a year since release and what do we have- new presets packs that we are expected top pay £50 for (although they are of course free for 'new' users to drive sales!)
Based on the rather pathetic 'Kontact 6' update, the long delays and unfinished Massive X and the very long times it is taken to update software that needs 'coders' I think NI have issues in that department, but not in the 'sample' based rompler instruments sand soundpack department.
NI used to be a leading developer, but they are slipping further behind other developers in my opinion and as a 4K monitor user I have just about given up hope for a GUI update with resizing across the range like Arturia et al have implemented (even Korg!). Its a shame, I like NI (I literally have the t-shirt!) and am a Komplete 12 Ultimate User...but I feel like I am watching the decline of a great.

Will no double be bundled free with Komplete soon anyway, I doint even think NI will expect many people to pay for them (and they are free to new users) but it all adds to the perceived 'value' of the Komplete offering.
