Or the perceived value of NI to the creditorsSLiC wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 8:56 am Will no double be bundled free with Komplete soon anyway, I doint even think NI will expect many people to pay for them (and they are free to new users) but it all adds to the perceived 'value' of the Komplete offering.

I won't speculate about such things, but, just wondering, do you know any bundle which offers more than Komplete? For me, that thing is simply amazing value for money. There's so much stuff in there that I'd need at least another lifetime to explore all of it.SLiC wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 8:56 am Will no double be bundled free with Komplete soon anyway, I doint even think NI will expect many people to pay for them (and they are free to new users) but it all adds to the perceived 'value' of the Komplete offering.

It isn't to me any more, I have been with NI from the very start- Had Kore, had Komplete Care(!) and am still on Ultimate 11 now with Maschine...I only update to K11 for Massive X to be honest, there is nothing else I wanted, nothing they have added to 12 either.chk071 wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 12:52 pmI won't speculate about such things, but, just wondering, do you know any bundle which offers more than Komplete? Is £1000 good value for Komplete 12 Ultimate? maybe if you are a professional film composer, definitely not if you are a bedroom guy doing EDM! Standard Komplete 12 for £500 - maybe if you want Battery, Absynth, Guitar Rig, FM8 etc, to be honest I dont use them any more. I dont use Reaktor much now since Bitwig introduced The Grid and Flacon has replaced a lot of what I used to use Kontact for.
Sure there is a lot of 'stuff' and I am sure some will find 'auto guitar players' and 'metal banging together' useful, but for me, the 'core' programs are dated and no longer best in class and the other stuff (which I got with Ultimate) I have never used and never will, some it has zero value- it was just no more expensive to have it as to buy Massive X due to the weird NI bundling policy.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Do you mean a Mk2? I have a Mk1 and I am not aware I can use it control my DAW. Certainly not in the way my Komplete Keyboards can.SLiC wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 8:29 am ........
I upgraded from a MK1 (which worked as a controller in my DAW) to a MK 3 (which didn't) which was unexpected and was the reason I stopped using the hardware controller (I don't use it stand alone) but I still use the software with hardware, but it was an unexpected 'downgrade' for me. There was a lot of noise on the forums about this, a lot of complaints (it seems a lot of people expected this to work as it had before) and it still took NI well over a year to fix it!
.........
OR do you mean via Mackie Control?

mk2 (Had RGB pads) and I think DAW transport was set up in control center, its been a while - I couldn't get it to work with Mk3 and it was reported issue on the NI forum, but in the end it was of little consequence as I just mapped the software to my Nektar P6 and saved the desk space (mikro is in a draw somewhere!)zvenx wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 1:09 pmDo you mean a Mk2? I bought Komplete 12 last year and have hardly touched it.chk071 wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 12:52 pm

Truth is, I have Studio One with all its included instruments, and Cubase 10 with all of its included content so why did I ever think I needed Komplete 12 ?
On top of that I have the whole Air package, and Sampletank and Waveform content, etc -etc - etc and none of it gets used.
Because of what you said, it looked amazing value for money.
And I am a sucker for a bargain.
But now I feel so overwhelmed by stuff that I just use the sounds on my two hardware synths most of the time.

Its not just NI, same with the Arturia synth collection- amazing value for money, but if I am honest, I only use 2 or 3 of them regularly...Still, this is Pokémon right....got to get 'em all!

Uhh, stop whining as if preset packs were just invented yesterday :v
Presets, soundsets and sample packs have been around forever, and are here to stay as they apparently earn some money to authors
.
...and make awesome free gifts. I never bougt one as a separate product

It's not like that for me. TBH, I feel like I could make music just using the Komplete instruments. I like - Massive X, Reaktor, Monark, Battery, Form, The Grandeur, Scarbee, Choral, Raum, Replika. Never touched the sounds, but, there seem to be some interesting stuff in there as well. It's just a damn good package for me, and, I can't believe that they make it available for such a low price (I paid about 300 €, for Komplete Select and the upgrade).SLiC wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 1:07 pmIt isn't to me any more, I have been with NI from the very start- Had Kore, had Komplete Care(!) and am still on Ultimate 11 now with Maschine...I only update to K11 for Massive X to be honest, there is nothing else I wanted, nothing they have added to 12 either.chk071 wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 12:52 pmI won't speculate about such things, but, just wondering, do you know any bundle which offers more than Komplete? If you don't feel like you get as much use from the included instruments, then that's fair enough, and it seems like Komplete is just not what you are looking for.

NI also has a series of expansions which include drums, samples and MIDI patterns, as well as presets for a number of synths in one package. So it can be more than just a preset pack.Vortifex wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 5:01 pm I like how plugin companies call them expansions instead of presets just to make it sound more impressive.

OMG the demos...
But that's par for the course for NI -even the demo for Rounds sounds like DJ McWubmaster, and that instrument is capable of a lot of great ambient soundscapes, etc. (indeed, the presets themselves are much more varied and nuanced).
I have a feeling the EDM market is already looking very different (wonder what Beatport's numbers are). If your'e trying to produce the dopest drops to move the subs at a club in Ibiza, you might want to turn on the news.
Meanwhile, there will probably be a growing resurgence in ambient and downtempo styles, as well as a broad market for hobbyists (which is already happening - there are more hardware synths and modular gear in bedrooms now than in the studios and on stage).

btw.. how do you use beatport to track trends in EDM? you just look at the charts?
