I heard some nice cello samples by Tina Guo. They run in the Kontakt player.
Whatever that is. Do I have to do anything special regarding that to run her vst samples in Cubase 10.5...?

Kontakt is a powerful software sampler from Native Insturments. It comes in a paid and free version. The free version is called kontakt player

https://www.native-instruments.com/en/p ... -download/

Download and install this then follow the instructions supplied with your cello samples. Once installed, go to cubase and insert kontakt as an instrument track then load your new cello library/ .nki file and voila.

Kontakt works in Cubase -- but you wanna talk about the most crappy restrictive small UI? Kontakt takes the cake, I've never enjoyed working in Kontakt.

It always boggles me that there's such an outcry on these forums (albeit from a relatively small group, just loud and often) about Reasons UI scaling when Kontakt is barely mentioned -- yet Kontakt is in fact far worse by miles and also more popular (unfortunately) due to so many studios requiring it for their samples.

Regardless, it works and you'll likely have to buy it if you plan on buying stuff that requires it. I don't use Kontakt or purchase items that use it if I can help it anymore, and I'm much happier.
Have you tried Vital?

Kontakt loads in Cubase as a VSTi
Tina Guo loads into Kontakt as a library

It's no problem.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer
