True. The problem is in repeatedly making similar mistakes. Some customers will remember, though, and may look at the company as the same entity it’s always seemingly been. This can cause companies to need to change their names to get away from bad public images.
Anyway, the most recent post from Matt @ NI looks positive and I’m happy to give them the benefit of the doubt here, in this specific context. I do still perceive NI as an endangered entity (self-inflicted), due to that whole investor thing (just like Propellerhead).
