this is true. the deaths could easily be avoided with legalisation and testing. (most deaths anyway, there will always be accidents).Unaspected wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:00 pmDirty E or a lack of education, maybe. Everything has an LD level though.

In most of the ecstasy deaths there have been alcohol, other drugs and other contributing factors involved. I’m not saying that it didn’t play a part, but it makes it harder to say that the ecstasy did it, unless of course your printing headlines.

Indeed. And education in schools. One poor girl died because she consumed too much water whilst on E. I don't think it's the kind of substance where you need someone watching you - unlike heavy hallucinogenics - but if you're going to roll for the first time, it's probably wise to do it with with someone who knows what they're doing.vurt wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:02 pmthis is true. the deaths could easily be avoided with legalisation and testing. definitely.
although that girl shouldnt have been sold it, that was the huge issue there, wasnt she 14 or something.
i cant get with selling to kids (despite the fact i was 13 the first time i dropped lsd, es weren't a thing for a few more years, on the market anyway)

The ld50 of ecstacy is huge though. An average sized person would have to take the sort of massively heroic dose you’d normally only get by accident.Unaspected wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:00 pm

If they took 68 100mg doses they’d still have a 50% chance of surviving. That equates to about 50 decent pills in 1 go. Is anyone really doing that ?

I remember her name because the news had such a massive impact on me at the time. She was called Leah Betts and according to Google, she was 18 (I thought she was younger too) and consumed over 7 litres of water in 90 minutes. She effectively inflated her kidneys beyond capacity and no doubt suffered many additional complications.vurt wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:10 pm definitely.

Agreed. I don't know of any cases where pure MDMA killed anyone.Acid Mitch wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:11 pmThe ld50 of ecstacy is huge though. An average sized person would have to take the sort of massively heroic dose you’d normally only get by accident.Unaspected wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:00 pm

i honestly thought she was much younger.
yes, i make a distinction between mdma and e.
pure mdma is much safer, its the crap they mix it with.

A friend of mine once.. He was drunk and started bitching something about "I'm going to kill myself" and took 28 very good ecstasy pills.
Well, the only thing he had was one love filled, sweaty night and some homosexual experience with one friend of his. His girlfriend was really happy next day when she heard of it

Kids of the neighborhood fed the squirrels for the whole summer so they became quite tame.JerGoertz wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 10:13 pm I once encountered a fox trotting down the sidewalk with a squirrel in its mouth. He didn't seem to be scared of me or anything. What a badass little fox.
I was sitting at the yard without shoes (I never wear shoes at the summer), when one of those fluffy fcukers came to me. He looked me in the eyes and when I didn't have any food to offer, he sniffed my big toe and bit it.
Just a gentle taste, hurt a bit but no blood. Just some squirrel drool.
(Don't worry, they're not painful like they used to be; got the sequence sometime around 2010 and the shots were in the shoulder and hardly an issue.)

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
