TBH, I don't think that you are. :) Because you judge from your own personal situation. And don't really see many factors which cost you much more than a plugin for such a price.

Anyway, no musician really needs Synapse's OB-Xa to make music. But, I don' think these times are any worse than others to sell your plugins. Rather the opposite IMO.

Yep, that as well.

The bigger picture is, nobody knows when this pandemic is going to end. The Spanish flu was 3 years. What are developers going to do? Not sell anything for 3 years if it comes to that? It makes no sense. You have to go on with life as best as you can under these circumstances. Anyone with half a business brain knows that.

Im not looking from my personal situation only. Again, you are not looking at the bigger picture because in fact you are looking from your own personal situation. Not only musicians has lost their jobs, but other industries aswel and as example given previously, some are linked to music industry (events).

Do you even go out yourself or live life apart home and your regular job ? :)

Imagine how much beers will not be sold at the events :) and this week in NL is Koningsdag, whole week of partying and getting wasted :-D

Spanish flu happened in 1918

No im not saying that, but i wount be surprise that pandemic will influence the decision to postpone the release for a bit economicly stable times.

What do you do you suppose they gain by having it siting on their servers?

Sales are always happening, right now market is riddled with developers selling their stuff at huge discounts, due to quarantine everyone wants their piece of the market, its a big competition. Having extra time gives oportunity to flesh out the product, get rid of bugs, optimise better and all the possible things that will make the first impression better so that people will certainly buy without thinking if its worth it or not.

I know that times are not easy for most, and, especially most businesses. I just don't see the correlation with a 100 - 150 € that nobody has to buy to make music. And, I don't see the correlation to the limitations in these times either. You see them. Fine for me. I don't think Synapse would lose any sales if they released the OB-Xa emu tomorrow. And, they're a business like all the others, so, they have to bring food to the table too (as you talk about how hard it is for all of us).

surely it will just be the same price as the legend?

can't wait for this one.
hope it's not too cpu heavy

I am testing and/or using the upcoming OB-Xa plugin since a while now and really love it.
So far i already created more than 150 patches with the plugin and a current version of them was sent to the developer. Until official release (no, there is NOT an official date yet...) i might even reach or surpass an amount of 200 patches.

Many of those patches do make use of advanced/additional features that were not included in the real OB-Xa. I am not allowed to talk about details concerning the advanced features yet.
To be honest i am already so much used to certain advanced features of the plugin that programming a real OB-Xa might be a bit disappointing in comparison (while i admit i had never used the real one...).

CPU with the same amount of voices played seems to be comparable to The Legend (latest version) or even slightly less.

For sure the CPU use is much lower than with e.g. Repro-5 and Roland Cloud Jupiter-8.
