Hello! I am not sure if this is the right place to post this. If not I apologize and please direct me to the
right forum. I just found out about Stagelight yesterday and I love it especially stagelight version 2.0. I have been looking for a stripped down Daw that is not jam packed with stuff i don't use, is easy to use and solid. Stagelight is exactly all of that. I found a copy online, downloaded it and it's currently running on trial mode. I tried to buy it but it won't let me. After some research I discovered that stagelight got bought by Roland and is now zenbeats. That's my nightmare. I don't want to mess with Roland and i don't want to mess with zenbeats and all the cloud stuff and it has so much more stuff than stagelight which will distract me from actually making music. Anyways long story short would anyone sell me their license of stagelight?? I would be forever grateful.

Roland own all the Stagelight licences - they're the licensor. I can imagine they'd insist on moving any transferring licensee from a Stagelight licence to ZenBeats.

Ha. I thought it might be the case but I am willing to try even if it doesn't work.

Hi Agabasoun,

My name is Matthew Presley. I was formerly on the Stagelight team but now work for Roland on Zenbeats. I understand you want things to be simple. That was our goal with Stagelight and continues to be so with Zenbeats. While things look different, we've made things easier and more streamlined while adding several useful features. With that said, Stagelight is no longer for sale and there is no way to activate it since the old servers were shut down.

You should check out Zenbeats as the unlock for the mobile versions (android and iOS) are free for a limited time. All you got to do is download it to your Android or iOS device then launch it and make a free account. From there, go to the in-app store, select the Unlocks tab and add the Android Unlock V1 or iOS Unlock V1 to your cart, and check out. You have nothing to lose. The mobile versions are identical to the macOS and Windows versions so if you like it you can then buy the desktop version. Feel free to email me if you have any questions at zenbeats.social@roland.com

Best to you!

Hello Matthew. Thank you for your response. I am happy for you and your team as it seems that it was a good business move for y'all. At least I hope so. I have downloaded Zenbeats and tried it and it does look and function a lot like stagelight. I wasn't aware of the move until after I had learned everything about stagelight 2.0 and had already fallen in love with it lol. I tried soooo many daws and finally had something that worked just right for me and inspired me right away. Zenbeats is not stagelight though. It is a wonderful program but it just doesn't have the ease of use and immediate inspiration that I got from Stagelight without all the clutter in my opinion. But that is just me and I am sure most people will appreciate the updates. I just wish I could use stagelight 2.0 as I have already started a few tunes in there and am afraid I won't be able to work on them further when the trial period ends :(
