Reaper is like a tiger, difficult to tame but it worth the effort.
Some prefer to play with a ... cat.

I didn't left reaper because I didn't take it up, demoing it was enough for me to know it was a steaming POS

another reason for me to not leave reaper is that reaper 6 seem to work even better (but slower) on my windows xp computers (I still have 2 second-hand desktop computers that are run by windows xp).
sure, my windows 7 desktop computer has faster CPU and bigger ram and is better for working with mass midi data but if this computer dies I still have two other windows xp computer that can run reaper 6.
I've been expecting my two windows xp computers to die for close to a decade now but they are still alive. what the?

That... just blew my mind.replicant X wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 2:34 pm Every parameter have LFO, and automation item can be LFO too.
And automation items can be combined simultaneously.
It's difficult to describe it.
It maybe a little bother if you have some knowledge about it.
But I recommend you to see these videos one by one without skipping.
Over the last few months I've been transitioning from Logic to Ableton because of Logic's automation (plus I'm probably going to switch to Windows, so I need another DAW after 10 years).
I love Ableton but hate the price. Even at its sale price, Ableton is going to cost me $350 USD.
I've tried Reaper a few different times and bounced hard. Yeah, it's cheap, it's light, it's powerful... the whole 'anything can be scripted' mantra kind of struck me as yeah, that's a bad thing. I don't want to sit down for two weeks setting up and tweaking my DAW when I could just be writing and recording.
I just tried what Kenny did in the first 90 seconds (automation items). I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor... what took me 5 seconds with Reaper automation items would take me 5+ minutes in Logic.
Amazing.

Try the "Reatraction" reaperconfig. It simplifies it enough so that I can use it (and I hate complexity).swartzfeger wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 5:12 am I've tried Reaper a few different times and bounced hard. Yeah, it's cheap, it's light, it's
