Run Kontakt and Kontakt Player on same system

I teach music production in Berlin and, as with everything else, it has moved online. The school has its own array of Macs with Komplete 11 installed, but now students are staying home, and giving out individual temporary licenses is not something that can be done quickly. So, long, intense class over a three week period on all things Kontakt has to be boiled down to what can be done in Kontakt Player.
I have Kontakt 6 on my system and would like to test, what Kontakt Player can and cannot do. How could this be done?
The only way I've come up with is getting a second account at NI, logging out of NI Access on my Mac, deleting Kontakt app and plugins, logging in with a second account, and installing Komplete Start. That's quite the hassle. Is there any easier way to set Kontakt to maybe just BE the player version?

You cannot have Player and full version of Kontakt that are the same major release (say v6) on one system. It's exactly the same program with the difference in license. Player can do everything as full Kontakt for encoded libraries (unless they are locked for editing). and for unencoded libraries you have a time limited demo mode that lasts 15 minutes.

Are they considered the same by the DAW? I have older projects with some Output libraries in them, but I sold my Komplete Ultimate license and no longer have the full version. Will I be able to open the project and still have all my settings, etc preserved? Also, the same question for React/React Player + Razor.EvilDragon wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 2:19 pm You cannot have Player and full version of Kontakt that are the same major release (say v6) on one system. Yes they're the same plugin ID, everything.
