another stupid question.
can someone help me understand why i can't use Ableton's convolution IRs with Fog Convolver?
i can copy the folder that contains the .aif:s from the M4L device folder and import it into the FC, but all the impulses are flat/empty. is there any other way to do this than to capture all of them individually?

Fog Convolver can only load WAV/AIFF up to 24bit. If those IRs are 32bit you need to convert them.vallaton wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 10:44 am another stupid question.

Please, upload them somewhere and send us a link: https://www.audiothing.net/contact/vallaton wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 11:47 am update: according to AIMP they are 24bit, mostly 44.1/48khz with a couple of 96s in the mix. none of them work. anything else i could try?

tried to google what this could be about, and it seems ableton might have some sort of copy protection thing going on in some of the sound packs. not sure if it's the case with these IRs, but i can open them in Live, and not in reaper or any media player. i can get them out of ableton by importing them as audio and exporting through "crop clips" and then proceed to build the presets by hand (they seem to lose the L/R this way), but this is way too much work to put in as i can just use the M4L device if i really want those IRs.
if this is indeed what this is about, i am not glad about the way ableton hinders the usability of things they've sold me.

I’ve owned the FC now a couple of years.
The main shortage from my point of view is the unability of loading true stereo files from the browser. All in all, the file management is not the best possible.

Ive just bought FC in the past couple of days, and have Live, I'll try and remember to check if I can confirm this behaviour.vallaton wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 12:45 pm tried to google what this could be about, and it seems ableton might have some sort of copy protection thing going on in some of the sound packs. not sure if it's the case with these IRs, but i can open them in Live, and not in reaper or any media player. i can get them out of ableton by importing them as audio and exporting through "crop clips" and then proceed to build the presets by hand (they seem to lose the L/R this way), but this is way too much work to put in as i can just use the M4L device if i really want those IRs.

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

As said via email, I can't open those IRs with any audio editor/DAW I have here. vallaton wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 12:45 pm tried to google what this could be about, and it seems ableton might have some sort of copy protection thing going on in some of the sound packs. not sure if it's the case with these IRs, but i can open them in Live, and not in reaper or any media player. i can get them out of ableton by importing them as audio and exporting through "crop clips" and then proceed to build the presets by hand (they seem to lose the L/R this way), but this is way too much work to put in as i can just use the M4L device if i really want those IRs.

Doing some research, it looks like they are not "normal" AIFF, but AIFF-C, which I think it's a compressed version.

+1, I have a stack of 4-channel Bricasti impulses that I'd like to be able to drag in.Harry_HH wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 12:47 pm I’ve owned the FC now a couple of years.

i'm pretty sure you can duplicate it, but i'd be happy to be proven wrong.whyterabbyt wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 12:53 pmIve just bought FC in the past couple of days, and have Live, I'll try and remember to check if I can confirm this behaviour.vallaton wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 12:45 pm tried to google what this could be about, and it seems ableton might have some sort of copy protection thing going on in some of the sound packs. not sure if it's the case with these IRs, but i can open them in Live, and not in reaper or any media player. i can get them out of ableton by importing them as audio and exporting through "crop clips" and then proceed to build the presets by hand (they seem to lose the L/R this way), but this is way too much work to put in as i can just use the M4L device if i really want those IRs.
