It all looks fine here (the BBCode for the quote).the-machine wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2020 9:30 amI wonder that too. I wrote to KVR staff couple times, apearently they red the messages but did not replied.
Test test.
Hm... works here when I quote you. Maybe check which browser you are using, and if there's any addons which could cause this, maybe addons for modifying the character encoding, or something like that.

Summing it up, if someone badly wants that 100% authentic Virus sound, it's best to get an actual Virus.
For making music with use of sounds inspried by/resembling Virus, the software is fine and Viper is on top of the list, it indeed doesn't matter at all whether it was Viper or Virus once the mix is completed, the synths are progarmmed and processed, etc.
I found that if I work 100% itb, which I prefer, quite a few Viper sounds are irreplaceable for me.

I have to say I was using FM with Virus vs Viper and Virus is still better for this particular sound...it is just alive and has a brilliance it just "fizzes" through the mix better.. As mentioned Viper is useful varaint on this sound to own, the Virus is a synth that is still IMO earning its keep, simply because it has an excellent sound quality that is classy, rich, wild, alive and vibrant. You still have to spend time with its sweet spots and hone the sound just like any other synth. It is time well spent as the results are often better than the vast majority of VSTi.
I paid a fairly high price for my Snow and I yet still don't regret it. I was wondering why I bother with the instability but since I recalled it is best to use VST2 version of Virus control it seems more stable again. (Viper still crashes Cubase 9.0.2 for me occasionally, I have no time to go through resolving that, it is not perfect I think it crashed when changing a preset, and it still makes ASIO hit end stops here every time you change preset.)

I would love to see your Virus presets that differ in FM so I can improve Viper. Btw I found the cause of the crashes, it will be fixed in the next update.Synthman2000 wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2020 11:18 am I have to say I was using FM with Virus vs Viper and Virus is still better for this particular sound...it is just alive and has a brilliance it just "fizzes" through the mix better.

Good news Adam. Yes it's a time thing again, not that much of it available and I like and use both for different reasons.

It actually depends, nothing is better than having kids when they sleep or play some quiet and calm games.AnX wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2020 11:23 amrecursive one wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2020 10:35 amEverything is better than having kids.

Honestly, after doing lots of comparisons, the only differences I've found related to Virus and Viper were solved by minor EQ'ing.recursive one wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2020 8:14 am Also while in direct comparison VIper may sound a bit thinner/softer, it's actually easier to fit Viper into a 100% itb mix.
That's the whole "warmness" thing. Hahah.
