FL... :x not fruity... A fantastic tool in my box, but I don't do beats. I write music for my guitar playing. FL is not expendable and always dependable :D
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

what does it matter if you like it
TonyVanDam wrote:OK. So FLS isn't namecheck in the entertainment field like Reason or Pro-Tools. But is there really that much hate for one freaking software?!? :?
I see people in here saying good things about it quite often
TonyVanDam wrote:Acually, I should care less about what people think about FLS.
pfft..make up your mind
TonyVanDam wrote:I love it. I use it of more than half of my production work. And despite some drawbacks, I still recommend it to people who are just starting out with computer music recording. :D
great to hear

I've pretty much stopped using it

only the FL threads draw out the professional trolls lurking around here...

I was thinking the same thing when I first saw this thread
passive-aggressive trolling at its finest

the 'worst sequencer' thread made me want to stamp me little feet too
but what the hell
opinions are like assholes

I don't personally use FLStudio but I'll relate a story. I introduced my brother to it. He's a 70s rocker schooled in the art of traditional studio recording (24-track tape machines, huge consoles, tons of outboard gear, etc). He spends a lot of time on the road with his laptop for work and wanted something with which he could do demos. When he saw the included Slayer his eyes got big. I never saw someone take to sequencing so quickly. Now he programs up complete demos and arrangements before going into the studio with his band. He can burn CDs with the demos on them to give to his band for practice so they'll know what he wants. Some of the drum loops and synth parts will probably end up on the final recordings as well. I'll post a link to his recordings when it's done.

Best thing about FL to me was the Wasp synth. When Rich pulled that off and bundled it into Orion 1.0, I was soooo over FL. :D
Better living through software

Moi, je pense que Fruity Loops est le mieux logiciel pour faire de la musique électronique.

C'est tout qui m'importe !!

Sorry, Uncle SAM, but the belgians did one great software here.

now hink, be honest, I date back back to 3.5, I know you date back farther...don't you ever catch yourself slipping and calling it FRUITY! I do, and personally I'm damn proud of it. Least I got a clue years ago of the potential of <cough> FL </cough> (not to mention the money saved due to free updates). Be proud of your heritage :P

and most likely saved it...it would have been bastardized in the states, go ask sony.

/me raises hand..

been using it in one fashion or another :D
since version 2.72 TS404... :).. thats years now.

I can use no other host proficiently for midi editing. The piano roll is simply unbeatable. Sure, tehre are features it lacks, but all in all... it does the job for me 100 percent.

maybe if they changed the name so 'Man Music' people wouldn't this it's so gay.. lol.

mind you, i think it's great.. i'm going to get it tonight or tomorrow, actually.

Post

I love Fruity too , but it really needs loop record! Thats the only reason I use anything else is because everything eles loop records. Fruity was my first software sequencer. I had before Fruity a hardware Alesis and Korg setup.

Post

I hear that a simple implementation of loop-recording is in beta testing.
