I cant import any rx2 files in logic. It seems like the old rex shared library by propellorhead has been discontinued. Does anyone have any ideas how to use them now in logic?

Post

Actually the latest REX Shared Library is nowhere to be found @ reasonstudios.com. I wrote a message and may get an answer from the support ASAP.

Maybe we're the only two people still using rex files

Please report back to let me know what they say.

Reason Studios and Apple Logic support couldn't solve this REX/LPX mystery entirely. But I found a way myself:

Question: Do you have a folder "Rex" in the following finder path and the "REX Shared Library" containing?

Code: Select all

/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/

Hi,

did you guys ever find out how to get the shared library now? It's disappeared from all the links I've found :bang:

I've downloaded Iced Audio AudioFinder to get my hands on REX Shared Library 1.7. Look in the Extra folder for ReCycle 1.7 and un-stuff it.

Hi, having the same issue here. I am a bit confused of where the REX shared library should be on my system. I found the download here: https://help.reasonstudios.com/hc/en-us ... t-in-Logic (https://help.reasonstudios.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013655000-Enabling-REX-support-in-Logic)
And installed it.
Now I see under /Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/Rex
two files: REX shared library (no extension, version 1.6) and REX shared library.bundle (V1.7)
permissions are read & write for this bundle. Inside this bundlle there's /contents/_codesignature , an info.plist and /MacOS/REX Shared Library. Should I make all of those read & write?

Would be so great to get those REX files working again. Any help appreciated :-)

I work on LPX 10.4.8 under OS 10.13.6

cheers!

follow up:
I deleted the 1.6 version inside the bundle, then set the permission of the REX Shared Library file (V1.7) in /library/Application support/Propellerhead Software/Rex/REX shared Library.bundle/Contents/MacOS to read & write and it works!
