Is alternative the right word? Not really sure. This is basically inspired by the artists SuperGreenX and bLiNd (both remixers on ocremix.org, one of my favorite websites and music communities). I tried to work in some progressive melodic ideas, while keeping a someone constant energy. At the same time, I wanted to try something new with the percussion rather than just four on the floor.. I think it came out pretty well (the artists for whom this was a 'tribute' to enjoyed it, at least).
I'm not sure if I can still edit this, because I've switched computers/hard drives since I've made it, but feedback is nonetheless appreciated. A few people I know said the snare is a bit too 'biting', but it's not a consistent complaint out of the people who have heard it, so I doubt I'd lower the volume significantly, if at all. One last thing: sorry for the Soundclick link, but I'm trying to conserve bandwidth on my server, as I'm beginning to run low.

Heh, didn't think of it that way. Thanks for the input.

I like how it goes from the harmonic synthy thing into the goa lead in soulstorm, I didn't see that coming. What did you use for that detuned arp in the middle of reckoning? Was that superwave? I don't know of any softsynths that can do that other than sw and zeta.

4 layered Synth1 patches, each one set to double saw, each panned symmetrically across the stereo spectrum, each one tuned in unison away from the others - you get the idea. A few effects and filter cutoff linked to a single knob, and the job is done. I actually dislike both Superwave p8 AND z3ta for that type of sound; only other synth setup I trust for that would be Reaktor's Junatik ensemble, slightly modified.

Nice stuff, well done. I dig all the glassy sounds. Could use some more thump in the bass, but that's a matter of taste.
Cheers, and keep it up.
