Has anyone ever had problems with snapping in FL Studio? This has been the case for a long time for me; In the main arrangement window I'll set the magnet/snap tool to "bar", I highlight a section of the music with the select tool (obviously tidy full bars, that's all you can do when snap is set to bar), then I copy it, and paste further down the timeline, bu it doesn't paste snapped to the grid, it just dumps it down in a seemingly completely random position and you need to change the snap tool to none and line it up manually anyway. Only me? It's possible I'm doing something wrong. I always thought it was a bug, but this has been the case for many versions of FL now.

I haven’t had any issues with snapping. Very strange:/

I use the snap feature in the playlist very often. I set the snap like you. If I want to listen a part looped, I mostly use the "cell" option and then I activate the "select" feature in the playlist and mark the part I want listen to. With the "cell" option it exactly moves to the grid. And if I want clone or move parts, I do the same with different options, it depends on how fine I want to move. If I only want to move, I just hold the left mouse button and if I want to clone, I hold the SHIFT button, too.an-electric-heart wrote: Sun May 03, 2020 6:49 am Has anyone ever had problems with snapping in FL Studio? But important is, moving to snap depends on the zoom of the playlist and the PPQ, too! Standard project PPQ is 96 in FL Studio 20. So you could try to zoom up your playlist and then move your selected parts. And use the "cell" option instead of "bar".
EDIT:
Sorry, I often have to edit, because my english is shit, but now it should be "good" written!
And I'll give you another good "trick". If you moved something with the snap option "none" very fine and not in grid and after that, you'll want to clone or move that part exactly, just set to "cell" and clone or move that part like written above.

It's not a snapping problem, it's copy/paste being weirdly designed in FL. It pastes at the nearest bar you're scrolled to. if that's the same place as the original notes, it just plops them down slightly displaced.
imo you're better off staying on the pencil/draw tool: ctrl+click/drag will let you box-select notes, shift+click/drag on notes will copy them (then release shift, otherwise the cloned notes will be locked to move vertically).
you can also make a time selection (ctrl+left-click in the ruler) and then ctrl+B to duplicate the selected area.

yes it's a PITA and been a bug since the beginning I think. I use CTRL-Q in the piano roll and in the playlist SHIFT-Q usually fixes it.

I'm just glad other's have noticed it... I was beginning to wonder. Yeah, it's not a "bug" otherwise it would have been fixed long ago, I guess it just doesn't behave the way you'd expect it to, and is an inconvenience.

The bug I was referring to is when you set the snap to line or cell or whatever, then drag the pattern or note, but it won't snap to any line, it will only move one bar or cell each way but still displaced from being correctly quantised.
