let me know how it goes.
i think after almost 20 years it might be time for a new kbcontroller :hihi:
the direct integration with ni 0roducts would be good, its pretty much all im using in software these days anyway.
To report back :), I received the M32 today, and just played a couple of hours with it. I really like it, the hardware is great, keys feel nice (maybe a tiny bit more synth action feel than the Arturia MiniLab, but, they feel equally heavy, and "quality"), the encoders are really nice, much better than on the MiniLab, the display is a bit tiny, but, well readable for me. What's great is that the pitch wheel touch strip doesn't have a dead zone in the center, like on the MiniLab. It's completely continuous.

Where the thing IMO really shines though (unsurprisingly) is with the hardware/software integration. Every parameter in the Komplete Kontrol software is controllable via the keyboards controls, and even without a glance at the PC screen. It's also great that the encoders are touch sensitive, so, you just have to touch a control, and it shows its mapping on the keyboard's display. I already used the KK software with my Novation Impulse, and, I think that it's very intuitive, and easy to use.

The DAW integration is nice as well. Studio One has templated for the current KK keyboards implemented since version 4.5, and, you have the transport controls already mapped, and you can also move the cursor in the timeline, with the big knob on the right (which is clickable, and can be moved left, right and top, bottom as well), activate loop, metronome, and you can do undo and redo from the keyboard in the DAW as well.

So, yeah, nice little keyboard, I'm really glad I bought it. :) The only thing is which is a bit of a bummer is that, obviously a lot of plugins aren't NKS ready yet, so, you have to map them yourself (which is pretty easy as well though). If you're a preset hopper, that can be a lot of work though, as you have to apply the mapping to every single preset, I believe.

BTW, this thing motivated me more to get into the software than any other keyboard before it. Says a lot, I think. :tu:

I'm loving the Pro 3 as a keyboard, it has lots of knobs and buttons, tho I don't think you can use them for midi cc. Which is fine as I had my Roland KB for years and never used it to control a DAW. For some reason I find the DAW remote control thing is more of a hassle than its worth. Definitely I think it's cool, just not for me especially.

I'm not 100% sure if I won't end up using my mouse again as well, it's been like that with my former keyboards. :D So far, it's still fun though. And, what's a real plus is being able to see the parameters on the display, and the visual page flipping.

Bought a trackball. Nice, but first impressions leave me wondering if it will ever do for games like WoW.

Post

I've been using an Elecom "HUGE" trackball exclusively for a while, including for games. I think it's just a matter of what you're used to.

Finally got me a Joranaloge Generate 3 Osc for my rack

I expect a full report :D I came really close to buying one a couple of times, and it's one of those modules that makes me regret that I can't own all the things...

Well there is a story to this...
I've hedged around it for months... maybe like you...

Anyway... I saw a Schippman Omega PHi Mark 1 for sale... made contact (price was ok)..
when it came to it, the guy changed his mind... ARGHHHHHH! what a wind up...
then I thought about a Livewire AFG...
btw, this was after waiting too long and missing out on a S/H Rossum Trident (£400)..
So I just hit that "Cart" button and be done...

yeah... I'll report back... I'm also adding a Waldorf MOD1 to give me more CV.. but
this needs me to extend my rack and add more power...

I'm trying to find the light at the end of the tunnel... :borg:

My Peak/Summit purchase is looking more likely now Novation just released a wavetable editor for them :D

The Trident is a great oscillator, one of my favs definitely. I'd like to have another actually.

Just bought the new Super Disting EX Plus Alpha.

Also an AI Synthesis AI008 matrix mixer, because it's half the width of my A-138m while still being enough for my purposes. Making that change gives me a little room.

The reason I gave up on the Disting mk4 originally is I felt like I had to keep a cheat sheet around, even with the relatively improved display over the mk3. I posted a few times that I dreamed of a Super Disting (and I even called it that) with a bigger, OLED display. Now there is one -- though it's not quite the large display I was thinking of, it'll do the job, and there are two of them in the one module. And it also has some other stuff, including Augustus Loop :D

Preordered the Super Disting...
An idiot on Set Theory:

I've heard Control has them in stock now, but I haven't gotten a ship notification quite yet and it still says "Pre-Order" on the website. Shouldn't be long now though (unless they've already sold out of the first production run :hihi:)

I'm thinking hard about trading my Filter 8 for an Angle Grinder. F8 has more different filter outputs, and that Hold gate (which I don't ever find myself using) -- but I think the delicious waveshaping on the AG is more my style. Trying to get a bit more info about the AG first -- so many of the demos concentrate on how nasty it can get rather than its character when patched as "just" a filter. That seems to be the way of things with any module that can go to extremes.

Got a Fender Player Mustang bass the day before the lockdown.
Ordered a couple pedals online for my Kurzweil PC4.
That's all for 2020 so far.
