Without reading the 3 pages of whatever, fl studio is great at handling audio tracks as well. I have my buffers set to 336, rock solid, music records right in via the mixer (fruity) and it has never let me down.
Plus on a side note, when I need to edit something, I pull the wave editor and I am all set. I downloaded demo after demo (and again this is solely for me) even STARTED in orion, and studio rocks the house. I love the piano roll, the editors, the quick browsing, the automation ease, etc etc. I compose solely in studio and it works for me. I am impatient, want to express an idea quickly, hate having to edit, and studio allows me to do all of the non and the above very quickly.

well see that's basically me, I got first hard disk recorder in 98, my first pc in 2000. But I only used it for ce2k for a couple years. Then I upgraded to crapwalk home toilet 2002 for dxi and discovered FL and vsampler. Last year I upgraded my ce2k to AA, now 1.5...cakewalk isn't even installed.LBN wrote:I don't personally use FLStudio but I'll relate a story. I introduced my brother to it. He's a 70s rocker schooled in the art of traditional studio recording (24-track tape machines, huge consoles, tons of outboard gear, etc). He spends a lot of time on the road with his laptop for work and wanted something with which he could do demos. When he saw the included Slayer his eyes got big. I never saw someone take to sequencing so quickly. Now he programs up complete demos and arrangements before going into the studio with his band. He can burn CDs with the demos on them to give to his band for practice so they'll know what he wants. Some of the drum loops and synth parts will probably end up on the final recordings as well. I'll post a link to his recordings when it's done.
I too am a 70's rocker, started in 71...

MIDI recorded guitar parts is a breeze for me.hink wrote:FL...not fruity... A fantastic tool in my box, but I don't do beats. I write music for my guitar playing. FL is not expendable and always dependable

I've used FL studio since Fruity 3.2(I think?). I honestly could care less about the name, it's a simple matter to download a demo and try it for yourself, is it not?
I don't consider it(or any other host, for that matter) perfect, but I have found it to be very usable; and the price(in USD at least) has been very easy on the wallet.
I've found the piano roll to be easy and flexible, and I don't recall encountering many(if any) bugs on my end. With rewire becoming more widespread, I don't see FL going away, especially if the Image Line guys can get loop recording, video integration, and some other much wanted features added. So far, it's done everything I've needed it to, although I'll be the first to point out that I'm not as technically knowledgeable as many people on here, so keep that in mind.
