Hi!

So which daw do you think has the best GUI. Go by all elements although feel free to say which elements you like best graphically if they vary.

You can pick 2, going by the latest version released in May 2020.

Thanks.

Cubase and Logic.

Most modern DAWs look equally good to me, though I never really liked the looks of Live, FL Studio and Acid that much.
But that's not to say those aren't great DAWs too. Looks aren't everything. And one man's turd can be another one's gold. I've even heard there's people who think of Reaper being ugly! :nutter:

Yeah Reaper's GUI isn't great even with a good theme applied. The arranger / items part more than the rest. Oh and the plug-ins having no GUI to speak of.

These rules seem very complicated.

Having the best GUI is not necessarily the same thing as being the best looking. The one I find the fastest and most efficient is not the one I find the best looking.

There are two kinds of people in the world. And you're not one of them.

True. Struggled a bit with that too. I think both Cubase and Logic have a nice looking AND usable GUI though. The most usable/fastest GUI for me is Studio One's, but, it's not the prettiest. It's rather functional.

Also, Studio one went fully scalable vector/high dpi in v3.0. It was kind of ugly, though. Version 4 is still scalable, but they managed to make it look good, too.

A GUI should have a good balance of looking tactile and aesthetically pleasing, but not cluttered or cartoonish. Studio One is one of the few DAWs that meet all points. Some, like Reaper, meet none of them.
