I agree. It's beyond me though why Lennard never had plans for a Sylenth2 (or did he?).DJ Warmonger wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 11:24 amSylenth1 may not be anything special these days, but it was exceptional back in the year it was released, which is 2006. For next 10 years at least it was everyone's goal to match or outperform Sylenth's sound.Sylenth1 is a anomaly. I personally still use it a lot and enjoy it. But I genuinely could not tell you why it’s so popular to this day when compared to the field.

Never heard of it, but it's very interesting to me! Love the sound of pipes and flutes, but Chrompahone 2 sucks in this regard, so all that's left are sampled libraries.ThomasHelzle wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 11:26 am Underrated: Respiro (https://www.imoxplus.com). The most amazing thing ever if you play a wind controller (which is amazing in itself). Fantastic dev too and great support, constantly improved.

"Hypersonic 2" is the most underrated of all time does not understand how those behind it or have the rights do not update it it is a mystery to me. They would be rich today. Replaces everyone from Nexus to Sylenth1. You who remember will remember how well it fit into the mix and sounded right.

Try the "Mutated Duduk" preset - I can get lost in this with my EWI USB for hoursDJ Warmonger wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 11:46 amNever heard of it, but it's very interesting to me! Ah, yes, totally agree here. Have it (and an USB EWI). Plays in its own league, there is nothing like it, but maybe sort of a niche product, as it needs a breath controller to really shine. On the other hand, everyone with a BC should know this plugin.

I even think that Respiro is a good reason to try a wind controller for people who never did before.Hadrondrift wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 12:10 pmAh, yes, totally agree here. Have it (and an USB EWI). For me there is a clear break between the time before Respiro - the EWI USB was interesting but I hardly played it, although I had several nice libraries and instruments for it - and the time after Respiro came out, now the EWI is one of my main instruments played all the time.
There is something magic about wind instruments, they are very close to one's emotions and Respiro allows to bring that out, even with a relatively simple controller like the EWI USB.
The dev also has a revolutionary mouthpiece in the works that should push this even further.
Cheers,
Tom

I don't know about overrated, but underrated synths are IMO:
ACE, Synthmaster One, Factory, Aparillo and some Reaktor synths like Prism, Form and Razor. Oh and definitely some Tone2 synths like Nemesis and RayBlaster are way underrated! CZ V is also very underrated. It is really a great synth and sure I will get it one day

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I too would love an updated hypersonic 2, but I think part of the issue is they are three parties involved who have parted ways (not necessarily acrimoniously, but they have parted ways) and the IP of it may have been lost in the mire, so alas it won't happen. One of those three, wizoo developed Xpander 2 I believe so that might be the closest you might come to a replacement in a still supposedly developed software.walker1 wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 11:53 am "Hypersonic 2" is the most underrated of all time does not understand how those behind it or have the rights do not update it it is a mystery to me. There is no official committee or consortium for testing and rating VST instruments and effects. Thus there is no such thing like underrated or overrated plugin. You will never know how many people are using X or Y.
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it’s just based on media “hype”. For example, I rarely see much talk about Plogue Chipsounds. I produce dub techno and deep house, and often people ask me how I make my chords. Lately I’ve been streaming the process using Zoom and they can’t believe I’m using the $30 PortaFM. Even though it’s a recreation of cheap Yamaha FM, Plogue did enough to reveal its hidden potential. And it’s also easy to make thick bass with lots of harmonics and sub content. But it’s really capable of quite a lot more than that as well, like lush synth strings and keys. It’s just that it takes a little exploration. Same rationale goes for MD, which is even more capable in many respects.enCiphered wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 1:36 pm There is no official committee or consortium for testing and rating VST instruments and effects.
