Nope. Not gonna join any Facebook group.

This is their official company forum, they should provide updates here. :hyper:

Sorry guys for not keeping you in the loop, once we have a beta for 2.9.9, will announce it here as well. But for most recent development updates, I'd prefer to discuss them in our facebook users group.

It's not a problem, do what you want :)

But that's the blurred lines which i don't get : So is it a closed forum (like Slack, for instance), or an open forum (like KVR, which is the official one, right?)?
If it's closed, why did someone talk about it here (is there no NDA?)?
If it's open, why not talk about it on the official forum?

It's an OPEN group, anyone can join in. I remember mentioning it here before.

In our default notification emails we urge all our users to join our user group:

For any issues, you can reach us through the following support channels:

1. Our website: https://www.synthmaster.com/contactus.aspx
2. Our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/synthmastersoftsynth
3. SynthMaster/SynthMaster Player/SynthMaster One Users Group on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/groups/synthmasterusers/

Here, i can read "PRIVATE : only members can see what is pubished", so this is not what i'd call "open" ;)

On KVR, Gearslutz, MuffWiggler, or just any other forum, anyone can see what is published (even people without an account). On FB groups, you just can't read a single word or publication if you are not belonging to the group, so this is not what i would call "open" (even FB says it's "private").
(To make it clear : I have nothing against private groups like Slack, but i don't like stuff being called "open" while in fact it is private and that the first thing you see when following the link is a keylocker icon).
Well, it's not a big deal (SynthmasterOne is amazing, and i can wait before trying -or just knowing- any SM3 feature. This is just that i am curious by nature, and wanted to give a look to what i thought would be a place where anyone is free to go... which is obviously not the case :scared: )

What's the issue with joining a group on facebook? We approve anyone what wants to join immediately.

Similar "private" user groups on Facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/uheusersgroup/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/VPSAvenger/

This is the last thing I am going to say on this. If you don't wanna join, don't. It's your call.

Have a good day.

The issue is, that a lot of people will never use/join Facebook.
Me included.
Facebook is a disgrace on so many levels, it's not even funny.

This.
Similar "private" user groups on Facebook:
... The difference being that (at least for U-He, for the others i don't know) the public beta of their software, and the feature requests and new features annoucements are made on their PUBLIC and OFFICIAL forum, not on a private forum.

People who want to try the latest U-He software, or just want to be aware of the forthcoming features can freely read the thread and download the software (even if they don't have a KVR account): Uhbiks are in public beta since 6 months, and since then i can try it, read about their development roadmap, suggest features or try presets from users. And any internet user can do the same without having to register.
Of course they still can have a FB group, but i think they will never claim it to be a public place, and they do not put their beta there : they put it in their official forum (because it is the place it belongs to).

When Tone2 left KVR for their own private forum (requiring an account to be able to read any thread), i stopped reading about their software.

ToneBooster does have a facebook group too. Fine, i don't know what is cooking there, but that's not a big deal. But they do not have an official forum elsewhere (afaik), and they do not claim that their FB group is an open place, asking on the official forum to come on another private forum to get the news -which seems odd-.

Synthmaster forum will be serious step ahead in my opinion,to connect users somehow and will give better, more serious position of sm as 'pro' synth, which continue to evolve, cause being part of facebook group isn't actually impressive, just opinion :)
