simon.a.billington wrote: Tue May 28, 2019 2:13 pm As much as I love Lindell products and plugins, this one actually never interested me. Maybe it's the unique design of the interface. It certainly wouldn't be the sonic quality.
It's a workflow thing - they designed the interface on the hardware to impose a specific workflow. Once I figured it out I found I liked the way it works but yes, the workflow is very different than graph style EQ. sounds great too! :phones:
You'd think so. But I'm not that afraid of different workflows. I'm not the type of guy who drags nodes around a lot on visual eqs, I still have the habit of dragging the mouse on parameter values to change them for the most part, because that's what you would traditionally have to do.

I find it more precise that way, but some habits do die hard.

Old thread but I got a weekend offer for this. Anyone have it? Worthwhile?
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

For me it is one of the more unique & also useful EQs from PA; but I would also suggest to try it out on your own material & see/hear how it works.

I will do, just wondered if others had used it :tu:

Whereas T-Racks eq73 or81 add Sonics the te100 takes away in reverb dept. Sounds good but to my ears don't require it

I haven't particularly enjoyed having it unused in my vst folder for almost 4 years now...
Something tells me this situation won't change anytime soon, as per 95% of all PA plugins.
If you're looking for the Klein & Hummel UE 1000 sound, I'd rather go to Acustica's Emerald2, tons of nice coloration and attitude. I had the chance to hear a real hardware unit once in a studio and it sounded like crap though, but it wasn't the EQ's fault, it was the owner who had not taken care of it (bad tubes, no maintenance...) but I use Emerald2 quite regularly for coloring.
You may think, "damn, how expensive the Aucstica one is" and I would reply "yes, but I actually use it". Whatever I paid for the PA one (probably less than the Acustica one) has not yielded any results yet whatsoever, so that, to me, is a waste of money (even if it's little money).
As always, try it yourself and be the judge.

I like it to scoop out mids in guitars. Be careful with the gain-staging, not something I would drive hot.

it is probably the EQ i use the most from PA. takes a bit to get used to though... you have to whittle it down unlike most 'workflows' of set the freq or drag the node. with the TE-100 you have to rely on your ears primarily which in my opinion is getting to be a lost art lol just because an AI or a graph says 'this' should work... your human ears don't always agree. the TE-100 is certainly NOT the easiest to get a grasp of but once one does it is a wonderful EQ imo. i tend to like fixed freq type EQs which this is but it uses ranges and again you can whittle it to what you need so you are not restricted to 'only' a fixed band. cheers

p.s. i will say that i use Fabfilter's Pro Q3 for digital/surgical cut EQ tasks mostly but i use 'flavored' EQs for boosting

Great EQ for adding color.
Also useful for doing harmonic shaping.

Still a great EQ this, it holds up very well against many recent offerings.

well, PA and Acoustica Audio remained unused, that's why I re-sold them.
There are better options. And I remember that TE-100 made everything sound worse, was a useless plugin for me.

Haha your post was even more hilarious.
95% of your PA plugins remain unused, it means you are still using 5%(!!!) loooool

This is a program equalizer, not a surgical eq you'd use to carve frequencies on individual tracks normally. In my experience, it shines on buses for fine tuning and stereo adjustment. One of the best on a stereo electric guitar bus. Definitely still my most used PA eq.

Post

It creates a boxy sound in low mids, didn't find a good use.
