There is also the Beat magazine version. Its the full Thorn, but monophonic.
And I wonder if it is possible to sell the non PA version, as I have two licenses. In one of the last PA sales it was cheaper to get a new license than the transfer would have costed...

The full version is great and goes on sale from time to time at a reasonable price.

That doesn‘t help if you don‘t want to deal with PA...

I use Thorn all the time for techno basses, but it’s also really good at lads and other sounds. Just a nice sounding synth all around.

DS mentioned you me in an email that he didn’t plan on releasing any of his other stuff via PA, somI wonder what the deal is with that.

Post

I guess he tried to see if PA would gain more money for him compared to selling it alone... Maybe it didn‘t work out? I hope we will see the MPE update in the future...

Oh that's interesting. Wonder why :?

It looks like Dirk Ullrich announced a new DS synth for this year about a month ago. There are some screenshots of a Facebook post floating around.

I don't have FB. Could someone post screenshots here?

Found it again:

Can't seem to find it on Facebook, possibly hidden in the PA audiophiles group, it was just this screenshot.

Edit:
Ah found it in the group, if anyone wants to see the original post on Facebook:

Superb. Thank you.

For anyone looking to upgrade to the PA version, you can use the PA summer voucher to cover the migration fee. First, contact Dmitry directly via his website and he'll send you a voucher to bring the price down to 19 bucks, then use the summer thingy to bring it down further to zero.

Post

Minimum purchase to use the voucher is 39...

This is frustrating tbh, I don't own a DS synth, and I like the look of Thorn, and would like to pick it up, but I will not have anything to do with PA.

So I guess it's going to pass me by, but if he is going to release stuff away from them, I might still get a DS synth in the Future.
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

Buy it, forget PA. As simple as that and exactly what I did after buying Lion and Thorn.

I don't see DS Thorn getting any updates, and even if it gets, you would just need to visit PA website once to download it.

Just saying this so that you don't miss the golden opportunity to get it for as cheap as $15. At that price, you don't need to think of reselling it (although that is easy too). :tu:

I still have Thorn 1.0, I’ll ask Dmitry if I could pass it on. I moved to 1.2 for less than the transfer fee in one of the sales plus voucher and got it new that way...
(And I don’t need two licenses...)
