What is happening to Native Instruments?

I am Native Instruments customer for long time, but for the last 1-2 years I see not to many products/serious updates released by Native Instruments. Last big product is actually Massive X only, rest are trillion of expansions. This is more like tiny 1-2 person working team not like a big player in this industry. Moreover older products haven't got any updates (like FM8, Absynth, Battery). Is this company winding up?

I predict they will close down by the end of the year. Sell all your plugins asap.

Maybe they realised there is more profit in expansion packs that don't need constant updating and support.

That’s a BOLD statement.robotmonkey wrote: Sat May 09, 2020 1:09 pm I predict they will close down by the end of the year. Sell all your plugins asap.
I can’t see that. Unless they are truly loosing money at a unfathomable rate.
But financially they seem alright.
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.

Can't speak about new unreleased products of course, but the released products I beta test with them are still very much in development...

What exactly are you expecting? They've got a huge catalog of stuff and they base that really on two products at this point: Kontakt and Reaktor. Smart move on their part. Much easier to develop and sell add-ons or expansions than totally new instruments like Massive. With limited development resources they've got to choose wisely. Spending time updating FM8 or Absynth doesn't seem like a good use of resources. I expect they have usage information on those products and that information shows that usage is low. Massive got an update because Massive was a huge hit for them.Piotr979 wrote: Sat May 09, 2020 1:04 pm I am Native Instruments customer for long time, but for the last 1-2 years I see not to many products/serious updates released by Native Instruments. Do you think Reveal Sound is going under as well? They have one product, Spire, that hasn't been updated much either but they certainly sell a lot of expansions for it.

At least GUI update. FM8 or Battery are a bit outdated now. I have Mac with 5k screen and everything is so tiny or blurred (like Battery)...and you cant resize it.What exactly are you expecting?
Moreover Maschine software is also very outdated. Hardware is great, but sofware didn't have any serious update for a longer time. The biggest issue for me is piano roll which is very, very basic.
And how many employees have Reveal Sound?Do you think Reveal Sound is going under as well? They have one product, Spire, that hasn't been updated much either but they certainly sell a lot of expansions for it.

Whilst Maschine 2 may not be updated with stuff you want it to be updated with, it is far from not being updated.

I just wish they would let people know their plans for some of the older plugins, even if it’s just to give a date when they will stop supporting them. I’d rather they updated them, but it’s frustrating to just see them age and not know if they will ever be updated again.

I don't like what they don't do (they don't update fm8, massive, absynth),
but I admit that the Komplete package is a "must have".
Kontakt is quite good, Reaktor have some strong points too. I also like Battery.
I think we may thought many years ago that NI will do the best synths of all time, but they focus to other things now.
Nowadays if someone mentions great synths, we assume that the person talks about a U-he / UVI / Arturia / Tone2 / VPS ...... synth, but not an NI synth.
Another interesting thing is that Companies like Arturia and Korg who are making similar bundles/collections somehow managed to develope a new look & feel & GUI to their plugins - this is a thing that NI haven't done yet. Plus Rob Papen that's a smaller company also created bigger GUI-s for their plugins - currently we can say that Rob Papen plugins look better than NI plugins.
