But, but, but, are there thumbnails in the instrument browser???
There are two kinds of people in the world. And you're not one of them.

I think they just brought a lot of stuff in from GarageBand then improved it. Wonder if GarageBand will get an update on anything now?

Exactly. S1, not really.

YES.
Even Ultrabeat is RETINA

Yep - and Ringshifter, one of my favourite effects

Just checked out a few Logic Pro 5 videos on YT. I'm impressed. This update has my attention.

New Demo Project as well. Billy Eilish - Ocean Eyes. Regardless of if you like her or not, its a legit production, vocal comps, fades automation, sampled instruments etc.

Apple has really done a wonderful job here all around! Wow. :o

Well this should shut up the cynical voices in the other thread that was prompted by the screenshots that were put up then taken down.

Seems they finally used some technology the bought years ago in Logic ( was the name redmatica? no only in MainStage)

Now, we have some clip options (Digital Performer 10, Logic Pro 10.5) - not that it was not possible before within the environment ;)

Interesting ;)
Redmatica :tu:

Missing the autosampling and sampling built-in among many other clever features that made Redmatica powerful, but yes... I do think they've finally added some things that may have only lived in Redmatica.

I think this is a nice layout for the Sampler. I'm just clicking around so I don't know about workflow yet, but it seems they did a good job of making an intuitive UI. Everything makes sense so far.

Yeh, this looks terrific- a great DAW if you are on that platform. Some many good 'all around' DAWS now, you can see why some like Bitwig are taking the 'niche' market route...may be hard to compete with this unless you have some specialist angle!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

There's an auto-sampler in 10.5

Plus you can record directly into the Quick Sampler

There are lots of different M4L sequencers available in Live...

The new Logic Sequencer can do both steps and timing per lane.

I owned and sold S1, never did it for me, sorry. As Forgotten said, looks like Apple have been looking at GB and also consolidating their purchased SW/hired devs to iterate stuff and include in Logic.

What I miss is browsing through sample using arrows or maybe an random selection mode. Still testing though.
