Seems they finally used some technology the bought years ago in Logic ( was the name redmatica? no only in MainStage)
Now, we have some clip options (Digital Performer 10, Logic Pro 10.5) - not that it was not possible before within the environment
Interesting![]()

Missing the autosampling and sampling built-in among many other clever features that made Redmatica powerful, but yes... I do think they've finally added some things that may have only lived in Redmatica.
I think this is a nice layout for the Sampler. I'm just clicking around so I don't know about workflow yet, but it seems they did a good job of making an intuitive UI. Everything makes sense so far.
Plus you can record directly into the Quick Sampler

I'm happy you could be corrected!elxsound wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 2:42 pmpdxindy wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 2:24 pmThere's an auto-sampler in 10.5elxsound wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 2:16 pmRedmaticasteff3 wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 1:29 pm Wow, that is a .5 update ....

So much this. When I saw all the improvements and additions, I was sure Apple was going to try to force me on to Catalina -- I am very happy they're letting me stay on Mojave for the moment. I even went over to the download site to verify. Tremendously excited to try this out!

But not High Sierra. None of my Macs support Mojave and I want this update.
It looks like my used iMac purchase wasn’t a great stopgap while I waited for a proper Mac Pro to be released... And then the proper Mac Pro that came out was priced for plutocrats only...

Amazing update! But God ****ing damn it! Logic 10.5 is still missing side-chain PDC and also plug-in delay compensation for automation. This can't be real!!!

Any Logic user please take the time and make a report to Apple: https://www.apple.com/feedback/logic-pro.html
Information why you can't use any high latency plug-ins to its full extent in Logic Pro X: https://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/view ... 21#p759021

Just as I was getting used to Ableton, LOL. The sampler is all I really needed, now we have a step sequencer. Beautiful, gotta dive deep into the demo projects!

Heh, that was my first thought seeing the change log. And really MacBooks aren't that overpriced when you compare them to similarly specced and quality-designed systems, like Dell XPS or Razer. And - from what I hear, at least - Logic is much better optimized for OSX than any other DAW for PC, so that also has to account for somethingsummer2000 wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 1:34 pmThis update is really the only reason I'd consider buying a new Macbook Pro. Too bad they are so outrageously overpriced for the customization I'd be happy with.

I'll have "DAW makers focusing on bells and whistles and not addressing fundamental issues" for $200.tedannemann wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 3:07 pm Amazing update! But God ****ing damn it! Working from home does have its benefits...I have my MacBook next to me so will update it while I work. Might take a peek at how things look after it's done...
