wow, game changer, kind of amazing how feature complete Logic is now. This is some powerful stuff and still easy to use.
of course Apple has the kind of money to sell this for 229 euro, but other DAWs better step up their game.

If you're talking about the Icon Images I still have all of the Old Ones. The Ugly New ones seem optional...Jace-BeOS wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 4:54 pm WAIT. MOTHERFUCKING WAIT. Did Apple kill all of the track icons, those beautiful, easily distinguished and readable track icons... and replace them with f**king FLAT SINGLE LINE BULLSHIT????
Edit: DOG DAMN THOSE NEW ICONS ARE HIDEOUS!!!
+1 Tho.
The Whole Flat FL Studio Style Icon is NOT Working for me lol,
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.

And did you see the last entry in that list? A convenient way of adding custom icons without memorizing the location of system folders... has that been there before?

Why do we even bother having technology with billions of colors and high-PPI if developers are not going to use it for anything other than year-1991 Corel Draw/MS Word Clip Art-type flat lines and circles bullshit???

I’m SO excited to see this today!!!! Is everyone’s AU/third party plugins all still working ok?
Definitely going to update soon, just want to confirm stability. Always do with new releases. I’m very excited for this one, so many new features I can’t wait to try!

Drum Machine Designer plus the new Step Sequencer and Quick Sampler is quite a combination.Ploki wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:03 pmthat i saw, and i love it. I was hoping for an "empty" kit ever since DMD was introduced - i didn't use it because of thatpdxindy wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:00 pm
Drum Machine Designer (re-designed)... you can put anything you want on a pad, including plugins, samples, drum synth. You can set the midi note per pad so it is easy to layer sounds.![]()
With the new quick-sampler, which means you can embed all samples in the project file now (No more missing samples. yes.) i'm retiring my other drum samplers![]()
You can record right into Quick Sampler, and the workflow of all of it seems impressive.

So basically just back up the Logic file in “apps”? Ok that seems easy enough!Ploki wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:15 pmjust make a copy of your current logic .app and update away.MissOptimyst wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:13 pm I’m SO excited to see this today!!!! Not to mention the text fields in the UI seem fairly tiny. I'm on a 27" non-retina iMac and their website showing off all the new stuff in Logic 10.5 is nothing but tiny images I can't read. There's so much empty space on the page... why do they think the images need to be that small? Aren't they supposed to be SHOWING OFF? I'm not even on super-high resolution. The images are just that small.
Also, it makes me wonder how these interfaces could look any better with retina. I mean, sharper lines, sure, but no improvement in layout or design readability overall, especially when the text fields are so small in the first place and the color choices SUCK... as has been the case since 2013's iOS 7.
The new Sampler (formerly EXS24) has almost no visual distinctiveness throughout its design. It's just a scrolling region of visually-similar controls and occasional symbols, using about three colors. It might as well not even use graphics mode. Retro text mode UI, but sharper.
Apple used to LEAD on design and now they're the epitome of bad design, all because of some psychotic obsession with flat minimalism. This is like some kind of mental illness.
