Both sets of icons are there. So can we settle down now?Jace-BeOS wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:10 pmHow do you mean they're optional? Can you explain further?Spencer Maddox wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:03 pmIf you're talking about the Icon Images I still have all of the Old Ones. The Ugly New ones seem optional...Jace-BeOS wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 4:54 pm WAIT. MOTHERFUCKING WAIT. Did Apple kill all of the track icons, those beautiful, easily distinguished and readable track icons... and replace them with f**king FLAT SINGLE LINE BULLSHIT????
Edit: DOG DAMN THOSE NEW ICONS ARE HIDEOUS!!!
+1 Tho.
The Whole Flat FL Studio Style Icon is NOT Working for me lol,

It might be a better workflow, and I can see that may be the case, via the screenshots and animated presentation... But the readability of the new UI still looks terrible to me. Maybe I will adapt... I mean, what choice do I have? I didn't like the old EXS24 design, but it definitely had clearly defined... everything.Ploki wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:28 pm not sure i agree Jace-BeOS, i find the new sampler much easier to use than EXS![]()

That I noticed. It's a nice idea, but I don't want it IF it means ugly line graphics ONLY.
EDIT: I mean, why not color the track HEADER background?

Can't say I really care what the icons look like, it's the functionality that I care about, and I'll bet they change them again on the next update...
*Edit* They respond to track color? That's cool.

I've been playing for a few. Apple NAILED it.
Every issue I had with the program has been fixed (My personal issues, I respect some are upset about the PDC Thing).
It seems to me Apple is Doing the right thing here. They are simplifying the program to make it more easy and fluid like your FLs, Abletons and Bitwigs of the World, All while (Learning their lesson from FCPX Im sure) Not Infringing on the Raw Power Logic is as a Workstation and as A Midi Sequencer!

Funny that one of the new ugly line graphics is a Fairlight workstation... They never had a nice version of that.

yes. In fact, DMD, the dumbed own simplifed UltraBeat overlay has been expanded so much they've added to itSpencer Maddox wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:36 pm It seems to me Apple is Doing the right thing here. and nothing is missing, theres's no "dumbing down" going on.

Appearance IMPACTS UI-readability, and therefore directly impacts functionality. I respect where you're coming from, but I am a VERY visually-oriented person. This flat fad is absolutely hurting me more than other people who are comfortable to rely only on text labels. Yet another way in which I have to suffer as an invisible minority, I guess.Forgotten wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:35 pm Can't say I really care what the icons look like, it's the functionality that I care about, and I'll bet they change them again on the next update...

The zoom bug is still there. Zoom out. Put the playhead somewhere. Pinch zoom or Option-shift-scroll. No matter what, the zoom always centers on the start of the track.
Now zoom in a little so that the whole track won't fit in your window. Now put the playhead somewhere and the use the mouse/trackpad to zoom again. Zoom will center on the playhead like it should. Stupid.
EDIT: Ah, it is partly fixed. Current bug is a carryover. If the playhead position was from a saved file in the old version, it won't zoom to the playhead until you move it. In fact, it zooms wherever the hell it feels like. Move the playhead first, and then it zooms fine. Resaving the file fixes this. Yay!
The Piano Roll Catch Playhead bug is fixed. When you click on an unselected MIDI region in a track, the piano roll editor will show your playhead. Before you would have to toggle Catch Playhead off and on to get it to move to the playhead position.
I know this seems like trivial stuff, but in intensive long editing sessions, the "trivial" stuff isn't so trivial.

I like icons too as I misread a lot of text (ADHD), but the change doesn't bother me too much. The previous ones looked a lot nicer, but at least the new ones are recognizable still.

I'm sympathetic with you - I feel the same. This is not addressed specifically to Apple but to the current "flat minimal" trendJace-BeOS wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:39 pm Appearance IMPACTS UI-readability, and therefore directly impacts functionality.
