yes, but that is quite different to brushing over a phrase or melodic gesture within a complex collection of notes. The use of rectangles in selection is a computational approach - which is fine - but a musical approach would focus on selecting material as it is heard (ie as phrases or gestures), rather than as it is displayed on a grid.antic604 wrote: Sat May 09, 2020 12:32 pmYou can make rectangular selection and move or copy it.fairlyclose wrote: Sat May 09, 2020 12:14 pm only just started using Studio One but if it does not have one already some sort of brush selection tool for midi would be nice - something that allows one to select notes as phrases rather than elements within a rectangle. FL has this I think - more or less select notes under cursor so that one can follow a musical line and pick it out easily

That Logic 10.5 update looks super nice.
I'd be all over it if I owned a Mac. I hope Studio One v5 is right around the corner and packs a lot of useful goodies.

Logic 10.5 looks very tempting specially after all that time with a very unstable experience with Studio One 4. I have to bite the bullet though cause i don't like the Logic GUI and mostly the new looks on 10.5 and i hate how small the mixer channels are. Hope we are getting something soon from presonus and hope to see something about VST stability.

please do not carry over the negativity from the other thread to this one, I'll delete it as I already did once...the topic is "Studio One Version 5.0 Predictions and Requests", please stick to it

I hope you understand that asking for a stability it is a feature request and there wasn't any negativity on my post. Sorry for messing the topic i didn't realize, i do see your point but becoming vocal about problems with studio one is one other way to push the developers.
So let me express it as a request, Studio One is my favorite DAW among a few i own, but i would like to see a way to stabilise the use of 3rd party plug-ins or protect the program from crashing ala Bitwig.

I'm guessing Hink wasn't replying to you and was referring to some posts he had removed, that I guess celebrated the demise of another thread that was [sort of] about Studio One a little too much.GNXT wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 3:17 pm I hope you understand that asking for a stability it is a feature request and there wasn't any negativity on my post. I could see someone could receive my post as negative, so that's why i wanted to make it clear. Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't triggered, just wanted to make sure i wasn't rude or something.xylyx wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 3:26 pmI'm guessing Hink wasn't replying to you and was referring to some posts he had removed, that I guess celebrated the demise of another thread that was [sort of] about Studio One a little too much.GNXT wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 3:17 pm I hope you understand that asking for a stability it is a feature request and there wasn't any negativity on my post. No, you just can't come here talking about Logic 10.5 the way GNXT did!!!
Just kidding, latest update really looks good. I'm not on a Mac though, so I will never test it. Well, my work computer is a Mac, but I hate it thoroughly
On topic, I really hope we'll see Studio One 5 soon, but I don't really know what to expect in terms of new features. I've heard that Cubase have really good MIDI features (no experience myself though), but what is Studio One missing that Cubase has?

Something like Cubase Expression Maps, to manage sample library articulations is a must have for me in Studio One Pro 5.
I would be shocked if they don't have this in version 5. I would expect Presonus to implement an articulation switching system via a better, easier, faster mechanism than the way Cubase implements it using expression maps.
I also think many Cubase users would consider moving to S1 if this feature was available, many have not switched to S1 because it doesn't exist in S1. (yet).

Studio One does not have any internal midi routing capabilities. At the moment, you would need to use third party software such as LooBe. Would be nice if they implemented it.starflakeprj wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:49 pm No, you just can't come here talking about Logic 10.5 the way GNXT did!!!

Yes, Yes, and Yes... Are you listening, Presonus? This would be a very welcome and wonderful ability to have in Studio One...Muziksculp wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:59 pm Something like Cubase Expression Maps, to manage sample library articulations is a must have for me in Studio One Pro 5.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Just started using SampleOne and Impact, I was using a third party sampler all this time. Just wanted to know if anyone knows how to randomize the start position of a sample.

Well I'm sure Presonus is thinking about other users outside of Cubase. Especially since that's not a DAW that's being heavlily used for modern day music producers compared to FL/Logic/Ableton. Guess the feature depends on the demand for it, and what the competitors are doing.Muziksculp wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 5:59 pm Something like Cubase Expression Maps, to manage sample library articulations is a must have for me in Studio One Pro 5.
