So about he update.

There are some questions. Does anyone know what Smart Pickup is in the Quantize Start dropdown in the Live loop window?

Does anyone have an SLMKIII. That seems to be broken in this version of Logic though to be honest in never really worked, but it's more broken than usual.

Couple of bonuses I didn't know about. Logic can now midi capture while the transport is stopped. Previously it only did when the transport was running. That's pretty cool. Being able to resize the Loop cells as much as I want is great. I hate that about Bitwig/Live.

Only a little funny.

I still have my paid for version of Logic (pc) on floppy discs in a drawer somewhere. :bang:

You never know. One of these days it might come back.
Maybe when Microsoft buys Apple. :D

I'll back off a bit and admit Perhaps "generosity" was the wrong term to use because it generally is associated with Giving out of a sheer good will and Kindness where as Logic Updates being (Since X) Free is a part of A Corporate Strategy to Drive Hardware Sales OR/AND To keep Logic users happy and In Place so we will stay on the Mac Platform through thick and thin and 1000$ Monitor Stands and Broken Keyboards :hihi:

But they could charge for this Update and people would pay it, but they don't, and I appreciate that.
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.

We also have the “us vs them” Mac idiots too, so best you mind reality.

Whatever the words to use... I am happy to keep getting big upgrades for free. Makes it very easy to keep Logic as my second DAW.

Now Logic just needs a wavetable synth.

It kind of has one. It's just really simple. Checkout RetroSynth and choose table. It lets you create and load your own Wavetables too.

does Alchemy count?

Nice update. The sampler overhaul in particular is something longtime users have been wanting for 15 years. I remember it feeling outdated even then, and I was never fond of the workflow. It's a shame ES2 didn't get a retina overhaul this pass; While checking all of the vintage plugins I loaded it up for the first time in ages, started playing around, and was pleasantly surprised by how good it still sounds for such an elderly virtual instrument.

One of the best parts of this update for me though is the continued support for Mojave. Catalina is still a hard pass until I can fully divorce myself from 32-bit, which I'm still unable to do.

This thread is discussing Logic, which works only on Mac for many years now. Do keep up. Don't see many Mac idiots slagging off Win here, generally the opposite.

Yeaaaa.
I didin't bring it Up Yet because this Update was so good but the Lone thing they left off my Checklist was a Wavetable Oscillator Tab added to Alchemy...
I don't even know why I wanted it to Be Honest. I have way to many Wavetable VSTs as it Is. I guess I just Thought it would be cool for Alchemy to be that "All in One" Option.

18 years now actually, and Gerhard Lengeling (Emagic founder) is still the lead audio/music apps director at Apple, even after all this time.

Random Offtopic. Did Emagic make Final Cut too or did they Apple get that from somewhere else?
