Okay, this is driving me crazy. I get that Ableton Live 10 can't read fxp files.

So you Ableton Live 10 users, if you buy a preset library for Dune 2 and install it, how do you get it to work in Ableton Live 10? Is there some conversion that you need to do?

Please help. I have a customer who can't get my presets to play even though they seem to be loading.

You can load fxp & fxb patches for 3rd party synths inside Live ... I don't have Dune, but cant imagine it behaves differently to other synths.

Hi TCC. When he loads the patch internally through the Dune 2 browser, it comes up blank with only the name of the patch showing. Oscialltor settings are all zero. All volumes levels are zero. Even the description of the patch doesn't show.

Do you have to load fxp files outside of the actual plugin?

So in other words, if I'm understanding you correctly, the steps are as follows:

Step 1 - Load Dune 2 FIRST

Step 2 - NOT using the load function in Dune 2 but using the external load function built into Ableton Live 10, load the fxp file for Dune 2. This SHOULD load it correctly into Dune 2.

Correct?

As a long time Ableton and Dune 2 user, I don't quite get what you want to do...

Open Dune 2, then load patch from inside synth ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This worked for me also with full preset packs (organized as folders), but now I use VIP to handle it all.

Okay, first of all, I don't own Live 10.

Yes, that should theoretically work. However, when the user tries to do this, the patch loads with all information missing with the exception of the patch name. Everything else (Oscillator levels, FX, etc) all zero.

It makes no sense but that's what's happening. He even sent me a screen print to show me what it looks like on the Dune 2 interface when the file loads.

I am baffled beyond belief.

No idea. Maybe file is corrupted, or the synth is not correct version?

Is there a newer version of Dune 2 before Dune 3 came out?

I am currently running 2.5.0.1 Is it possible an older version of Dune 2 won't load these presets properly?

Is it possible your customer is using an older version of Dune2 than yours? Has he tried a few presets with same result?

Forgive me, but not being a Live user, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. I don't even know what I'm looking for and probably wouldn't know it when I saw it. And when I told the customer to use the external load fxp button, he had no idea what I was talking about. So he's no help.

You use Live. Can't you just be kind enough to tell me where the load button is so I can relay it to the customer? Is that so much to ask?
