The Absolute State of this Website if that ever Happened :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
It would be worth seeing Apple buy NI just to be able to witness that... :hihi:

I reckon InMusic Brands should buy NI, they're good at creating value.

Then we would finally get a resizable Absynth!

I don't have time to read this entire thread so forgive me if this point has already been made.

But wow I see threads like this so often, it is utterly amazing to me. The level of entitlement truly astounds me.

I'm not even NI's biggest fan, not by a loooong way. But what the hell with these kinds of posts? I just don't understand the level of expectation. Or the need for a continuous stream of new shit to keep flowing just for the sake of it.

If nothing else can make you understand, look at the world out there right now, and honestly all I would say is - it would actually be pretty good if companies even just manage to survive through this situation, let alone make some new stuff to give you some amusement for about 5 minutes before you get bored and start demanding the next shiny new thing which you'll also get bored of in 5 mins

Finally, the voice of reason. I bet we all feel pretty foolish now.

I don't think it's entitlement, I think it's just a skewed perspective of how the world works...

Music software companies will survive. The ones that don't will be ones that had bad finances to begin with. The issues with NI, and I am (or was), a big NI fan, seem to have been ongoing since couple of years. I think I started paying attention when I saw the weird Splice stuff enter the equasion. It seems all of a sudden , the regular products NI were know for just started getting delayed and side winded.

The latter one would probably be more likely. Let's meme it into reality.

I agree with the point you want to make here but the fact is that making shiny new things to amuse people for 5 minutes is exactly what Native Instruments problem is right now.

Every week my inbox is spammed with the latest cinametic sample, preset pack nonsense. It's a constant barrage of trivial things with little focus on more significant projects.
Even Massive X seems to have been mostly a vehicle to push sample packs (I was wondering why there were so few presets in such a major release, but now I see!)

I think it's clear from their recent releases, press releases, and acquisitions that they are focused on areas of potential growth that are not necessarily in line with what customers have come to expect from them.

Which is fine. They are a company and have a right to operate however they would like.
Criticism is perfectly valid but where it becomes entitlement is when people feel that companies are obligated to operate in the way they would like them to and are offended when that doesn't happen.
Which yes, KVR is somewhat of a hotspot for such things.
But more than that I think people become concerned when the balance between the financial people and the actual creative developers begins to skew so heavily toward the former. It is usually a recipe for disaster.
