Installing IK Multimedia SampleTank 4 - WTF

I cannot believe that IK Multimedia and or SampleTank 4 expects users to extract each one of the 40 1-2gb files and install them individually. Most companies offer some sort of automation to kindly help in this process. This just seems ass backwards and kinda rude when you also charge people to redownload their purchase after a few months.
This has to be one of the worst install processes I can imagine for a brand new modern plugin.
Am I missing something?

I knew there was a reason I hated IK Multimedia in the past... Since Sampletank 3 always crashed on me I figured a cheap upgrade to Sampletank 4 would possibly fix it, but this is bullshit.

Yeah, opening a ticket with them is as good as someone giving you the middle finger as a response.

No, you're not missing something. I had an encounter with IK tech that took over two weeks of zappng PRAM, sending screenshots, until I basically told him I needed him to go in remotely, which he did. He sorted out a file structure issue that was causing crashes everytime I touched it, but not my original problem: ST4 and logic's sequencer don't play well together. The tech dude told me that he'd pass the issue in to the developers, which is, I suppose, another way of saying 'it's a bug.' And the file corruption happened when I was pointed to a IK page that explains setting sample pathways, and tried to follow the instructions, only to create another problem. So, over 2 weeks, only to be told 'I'll pass it on.'

I recently bought into the crossgrade to Total Studio 2 Max and there are tons of files to download and extract. It took a long time of course...but it all went well. I just took my time and eventually got through it.

ah, SampleTank 4------yes, seeing your "WTF" title takes me back to those halcyon days of my installation rage, frustration, fear, depression and finally quiet acceptance of it just not going to ever work. However, that was right when it came out and had big problems right out of the gate. Now, for you, at least the updates have mostly fixed all the early cluster****s there were, I would imagine.
That process was the worst I had ever tried, for sure.
BUT-------finally, once everything was sorted, it does work and is nice. There is some very good, usable stuff in there.
And from reading what others have experienced, luckily I did have good experiences with their support. Hopefully you will too if you need it, but you have to just grind through the downloads, unfortunately, until they get some system going.

crashes on resizing GUI. I have had vivid nightmares trying to sort out this buggy POS. I like the samples..spent a mint on Max deal, but still can't use the bloody thing without crashing Studio One or Reason. Before it was crashing the system because I had onboard graphics that couldn't cope with the OpenGL, so I bought a lowend graphic card and now it works fine...until I try to close it or minimize it. It is definitely a graphics bug. All the other IK stuff works like a dream.

It never crashes on me when I resize it or minimize, etc. I remember some other thread on KVR where someone found the reason why theirs crashed. It was something to do with where files are kept on their system, how they installed one of the IK products versus where another IK plugin was, or something like that.

Got Total Studio 3.5.
Installed everything (needed to contact support for st max).
Uninstalled Syntronik2 and ST Max.
Still worth it.

The fact that they charge to re-download your sample content is the tackest sh*t I’ve EVER seen from a company. That’s some gh*etto a** level sh*t right there.

It's better to just get a decent external hard drive and back it up yourself, then you don't have to download (if needed) the tons of files all over again.
