New "out of rules" compressor plugin

Hello,
I've just finished my new plugin pajSoil which is dynamic audio compressor with ability to set crucial parameters out of rules that typical compressor have, like:
- very short attack/release times, even total 0ms can be set,
- very deep negative ratio can be set
These crazy setting combined with smart setting of other parameters like side chain filter, mid/side routing, look ahead etc. can give interesting and unexpected results.

There is also precise graph representation with ability to manipulate parameters by dragging that graph elements.

If anyone would like to test it and give me any feedback and advices I would be very grateful.

Hi,

one public question before I send you the PM.

You mention negative ratios. When you set negative ratios the device works like an expander, makes the affected parts of the audio stream louder rather than quieter, right? Does pajSoil include some safety measure (a limiter for example or some auto-mute) to avoid loud overshoots?

1) Yes, pajSoil can operate with external sidechain;
2) Unfortunately oversampling is not introduced, but there is interesting look ahead feature with algorithm that start applying gain reduction from 0db before main peak, and gradually increase GR to its target value exactly on the peak.

According to pajEQanalyser: it is only plugin version, not standalone application. Actually pajEQanalyser is combo of two plugins:
- one is impulse generator, which you insert before plugin you wish to analyse;
- second is analyser which you insert after plugin you wish to analyse;

IMHO this is an incredible compressor. I am just using it now with Microtonic and it's making an already great sounding electronic drum sound amazing. And it's so easy to dial in all different kinds of sonics. The really fast range of attack and release are where the magic is. start them out at 0 and slowly adjust in the 0-3ms range. also the knee control really has a lot to offer here too. then, click the ratio knob end point to get into the crazier dynamics, with 0-2ms att/rel... wow, the distortion this thing creates sounds great.
