Same here.
When Portal was first released, I wasn't impressed enough by Output's sound demos to take the plunge without being able to personally demo it. But, as is often the case, Simon's video demos have highly increased my interest.
Simon's Portal videos + current sale price = lighter wallet.
If less is more, imagine how much more MORE will be.

I also like Simon's video demos and as mentioned by scott_free, they given a much better picture of the possibilities of the plugin.
Also, I don't see anyone discussing bugs or anything about Portal. It is not as busy as other topics. Let's keep enjoying and learning the endless possibilities of Portal, at least until we have some other things to discuss about.

If only Portal came with a couple of hundred instructive presets.
Anyway, enjoy Simon's work - high quality, not doubting that! - and I'll have a listen to his presets in another software thread soon.

There is a bug in Portal: a preset saved with the HP 24 filter engaged will use the LP filter when recalled, although the HP filter is displayed as being active. Clicking on the HP filter will then re-engage the correct filter.

Bug confirmed by a support guy, they're working on it. Apparently it only occurs in certain circumstances.Sampleconstruct wrote: Sun May 24, 2020 3:27 pm There is a bug in Portal: a preset saved with the HP 24 filter engaged will use the LP filter when recalled, although the HP filter is displayed as being active. I don’t think Arcade and Portal can talk to each other, right?

Good question. How does it compare to Omnispheres’ (and Alchemy v1) granular?

I'm not sure how omnisphere's granular is, but I prefer portal's granular to alchemy any day
one large difference is alchemy is a granular synth, where as portal is a granular effect. Currently portal is one of the best granular effects out there, but I think it should be contested soon
