macOS wasn't available for this plugin until now :) This instrument provides an emulated OPL sound chip. It provides all features of the OPL2, and some features of the OPL3. The original coder and author is Bruce Sutherland.

I love the sound of this VST. It needs more love.

Thanks! I collaborate with a local videogames developers association and we have a "retro area". People will appreciate this one.

Amazing sound on this one! Real chunky.

Would it be complex to add custom tuning to this? There is a painful lack of microtunable old school FM synths available. A lot of good tracks were made using different tunings on old Yamaha FM synths (early aphex twin etc). I would pay money for that feature :)

Not polite to receive a great gift with another request - just thought i put it out there. Anyway, thanks a lot to both of you!

I'm a sucker for the OPL sound. Making a note of giving this a spin!

I'm trying this here (iMac 2015, Catalina, Live 10). It works like a charm and it NOT ONLY sounds great. It's also a joy to use and it's a terrific tool to learn the very basics of FM synthesis, because as a FM synth, it has very few features, but those few are very relevant.

I'm bringing this into my subject "Sound for Videogames" at the art school I work for.

Thanks!

We did a One Synth Challenge with JuceOPL some time back ...One Synth Challenge means that only the featured synth is allowed as sound source, accompanied by free of charge fx, but no distortion, chorus or flanger.
I remember that I enjoyed the synth a lot. It's very capable though it seems "simple" compared to monsters like VPS Avenger... Have a listen if you like: https://soundcloud.com/p-e-t-e-r-h/lies ... igh-purity

This seems great. Especially with the growing love for OSTs, quite a few people might find some good use for this.

Nice.
Take care

29 dollars? I have the original from Bruce Sutherland which is free. What differences are there between his version and yours?

Code signed and notarized binaries for macOS (builds for this platform weren't available anymore), VST2 binaries for all platforms, Linux binaries, new code and updates from Bruce that can be checked at https://github.com/bsutherland/JuceOPLV ... les:master (stereo support, GUI fixes, native dialog windows that actually work, upgraded framework, etc.) and many stuff to come.

:tu: Native dialog windows... The lack of that is always a pet peeve of mine on “cross-platform freeware”.

The original Bruce sutherland feedback operator was not correct , there was hardly any feedback going on (even when maxed out )
