Why can't I find the right adapter for my Senheisser "HD6XX" headphones?!

This is the third adapter i've bought and everytime it is shipped here, i just give up and wait a few months and buy another wrong one. I've bought a 3.55 female to 1/8 male adapter, but the base on the headphone jack from my headphone is FLAT so it won't go further into the female adapter and is loose. It makes every adapter I use absolutely USELESS, therefore making the actual headphones useless. I bought the headphones on massdrop at a cheap price, but supposedly they were supposed to be the same thing from all of the research i've done. I don't know if the official Sennheiser HD600's have this same flaw, and i'm starting to wonder if i'm the idiot who keeps ordering the wrong part or this flaw is native to the headphones i bought?!? On my DT 770 pro's, it has the same design except the base has more depth to twist the female adapter on. This one doesn't.
