I was in youtube try to find tutorial how to make sound with DAW x. I see video "Make sound with this DAW" I look it, but he only use SERUM!! I look another video, again "Learn make sound with this DAW" and this video use Massive! This is very silly. If they use only Serum or Massive or other expensive synth, it should be tutorial "Make sound with Serum"? Also in some tutorial video use many expensive effects not the effects from this DAW.
But this also make me think many people say "this famous artist use this DAW to make music!" "no no, this artis use this DAW so this DAW is better!!". But do the artist really use the DAW - or do this artist use Serum + Massive + other synths but not the DAW synths? And expensive effects but not the DAW own effects? Interesting!?

While I agree on the 1st paragraph, I don't with the 2nd - even if one uses only 3rd party instruments & FX, it's still the DAW that largely dictates the workflow, facilitates editing of the MIDI and audio, helps with arrangement, etc. In some way a DAW can influence your music, unless you use it only for the most basic features.JollyBoih wrote: Fri May 15, 2020 6:46 pm I was in youtube try to find tutorial how to make sound with DAW x. You're right!
The problem today is, that every noob can post Youtube Videos and so Youtube is full of shit, don't waste your time with that! It Is possible to make full tracks from scratch completely with every DAW, the difference is the workflow and the strengths. But using 3rd Party VSTs makes it much easier!

This sounds like a typical idiot who doesn't know what the definition of "DAW" is.
Probably also talks about making "beats" when he really means "songs."
Well, OK, maybe "songs" is an overstatement...

I think .
Making Music with only the on board sounds of many DAW´s is possible. (Without a MIC )
Logic ... for Sure (EXS and Lots of Synths)
Studio One ... same (Sampler and Synths)
Cubase I think yes (Don't used it for 10 Years so out here )
Ableton Live (even Intro) Yes but Suite is much easier
Reaper .somehow Yes . (No sampled instruments and only very simple Synths .) If you can make a Song with this limited Tools you´re really a Pro (Sampling from Youtube and other sound sources is still a Way )
So yes with nearly every DAW this should be makeable.
