if only we had the technology to video something and have it sent in realtime or recorded to an audience who could see it on some kind of international computer-to-computer network.
How many have you watched from beginning to end?
DJ sets? About as many as Ive watched partially; none..

Same as in IRL.

Feel free to let me know how that changes the existence of platforms which allows people to make money despite not turning up in person. That kind of thing certainly didnt replace theatre, did it?

Well, its an option nobody else working at a venue has, like the bartenders, waitresses and security, so boo f**king hoo.

Ableton has the hottest cuties in their ads, therefore they will survive despite their shortcomings.

People rarely pay for music now, you really think streaming DJs is the answer?

It's a whole other ballgame when you step inside the stadium of the big leagues...

I'm pointing at a mechanism where people can and do make money, in response to the 'oh noes there is no possible way anyone can make any money now' comment.

Adapt or dont.

Did any other software with a clip launcher doom Ableton Live?

There’s your answer.

"Ableton Live Killer" number #11, let's see how this one does...

(Personally, I think it will take more sales from other DAWs than Live.)

Anyhow:

"Will 10.5 Update bring back former Logic users from ableton?" Sure, some. Yes.

"Ableton Live ($700) doomed?" Nope.

BTW, you can easily get Ableton Live for cheaper than 700, I myself upgraded from Intro to Standard to Suite, spent $524 total, and that's one of worst upgrade paths for Live Suite in terms of cost/benefit.

Right now on Thomann, Live 10 Suite is 379 not 700 (best deal ever AFAIK), also upgrade from Lite for 333:

https://www.thomannmusic.com/ableton_live_10_suite.htm

https://www.thomannmusic.com/ableton_li ... g_lite.htm

That deal will probably expire May 20 (that's the advertised end date in Ableton's site, maybe it will be extended, but can't count on it).

Also unlike Logic, Ableton Live licenses can be resold. Just like Macs can be resold and that supposedly makes up for a Mac's higher price compared with PCs. By that logic (badabump) you can subtract expected resale price from Live's price too.

Of course, you can buy used too, and that used copy has a similar resell value (Live prices are stable), that's like "free" using Mac-buyer logic (badabump tchiss).

Ableton is overprized since years, but their fanbase praise them like god, because their marketing works. It's the same like with clothes and shoes, the mainstream is buying every shit for every price! I wouldn't use it for free ... :D

So let me get this right...you wouldn’t use it even if you got it for free, yet you know it’s “overprized” (whatever that means), and you also know that every user “praise them like god”?

Do tell you you gain such insights from zero usage.

Sorry teacher, I meant "overpriced"! :D

And I tested Ableton 7, 8 and 9 and compared to every other DAW, I tested and I'm using, Ableton is the worst, but it has the most fanboys! :D

It's probably going to take a little more effort then that.

So how did you become an expert in the users of all DAWs?

Do tell.

Random person sitting at home on their tablet: Ableton is overpriced
Ableton accountants & managers who have actual sales figures: Ableton is selling like hotcakes.

Who should I believe
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"
